Those two boys look like they'd stay forever if they get to play in that chair!!

I'm sure my back pain doesnt compare to yours but I've gotten great but temporary relief from Aspercream with lidocaine. I get it from Walmart, usually coupons are available. I smather that stuff on my back when it aches and it does help me alot. I'd use a paint roller with it if i could :)!
That table and hanging upside down would set off my vertigo. Ive always been afraid to try one.
Good luck with the back its not fun.

Jim: looks like all is well even though you are not pain free. like I mentioned to DON LONG if you might have a SHIATSU (good one and Japanese if you can find him/her) have them do a massage and if they can't make you feel better in a few treatments I'd be surprised.

keep upright and breathing and doing what you do!!

I'm feeling pretty good today, but who wouldn't after a day like yesterday. Those boys had a blast. I couldn't believe how many insect names and information that they knew, like little encyclopedias.
After hanging, electric shock, hot rocks, and a couple of other medieval rituals I am able to sit upright in a chair again. I stayed inside all day today and caught up on some lodge bookwork mainly because it rained so hard it was over running the gutters on the house.20210709_120716.jpg20210709_120722.jpg

Jim, I used to be a monthly chiropractor visitor (or more), I got one of the percussion massage guns and it works awesome, I use it everywhere I can reach and I have not been to the chiropractor in almost a year. I would recommend this particular one as it allows for a lot of impact adjustment, so you can start off slow and work your way up to more power. While these are not the cheapest, they are really good quality and I own multiple styles, so I can vouch for them and feel comfortable with the recommendation. I use them on my legs, arms, neck, back and my GF will get to the places I just can't reach.

Kirk, Its kind of a catch 22 situation, the more I sit still the worse I feel but the back is keeping me still. Like we say here baby steps. But if I dont get moving Don will catch up!
Who am I kidding he is so far ahead.........let's just move along. Lol

Don, It has been so dry that the blackberries are bitter and we haven't got a ripe tomato yet. Pat and I have been watering every evening to keep things alive.
It has been just like voodoo with my back, the Granddaughter is very much into Cherokee medicine and natural stuff so she has been working on me. I need a twister game so I can stretch my muscles.

Uncle Willy, I'm trying but all the bad people are outside chanting my name.

John, That horse head has been used by my family since before my birth. We are cowboys and we have all tied a horse to that thing over the years. When my Uncle passed away my Dad went and got it off of the post on his farm, when Dad passed I did the same. Now it rests.

Strouty, I have thought about something like that. I'll probably get it. Thank you.

From the sounds of it, you're safe for now, HJ. Strouty's not moving too fast, and I'm walking wounded. Maybe Uncle Willie has us covered?

I started cleaning the chicken lot yesterday but the bending got to me so I mowed the lawn instead.

Last time I spoke to the chicken lady her hens had quit setting so no chicks. I have checked the other hatcheries around and on line and no bueno so we will probably wait until next season to get chicks.
I finished an outlet on the front porch that has been overlooked for a while then went to the shop in between downpours to finish the kitchen cabinet doors for the lodge, 5 of the doors were broke at the joints so they got cleaned up and reglued. Today I will touch up the scratches and take them back.
Got the grill out and made supper

NY strip, squash, jalapeno, and burgers for the dog, pat made baked sweet potatoes, and salid.

Jim keep looking for a shiatsu and of course eating less of the goodies might help your back too. I had a great chiropractor but his adjustments were only temporary since the cracking or adjusting doesn’t have muscle going with it. I needed same adjustments every week or two until I found inversion but shiatsu massage worked best.

speaking of chickens doesn’t your neighbor have over 100,000 of them? Can’t you get a batch from them or maybe they are wrong breeds?

take it easy and best of luck in your search for a solution to your pain and issues.

drives, I have been getting better, doing stretching and hanging. I have always done better when I'm working, I guess it is a continuation of the stretching and bending thing. I have started a new program to help with the weight, results to be seen.

Kirk, I sold that truck months ago and the guy sent me a big chunk of the money, he calls about once a week and gives me a reason that he cant come and get it. I'm about ready to sell it again.

If Don Long sees those peddle cars in your landscape he will probably be calling you to put in an offer, so he will have something new to restore, your supper on the grill looked awesome 😋

Kay,
Yes it's real, it dosnt require any special care in this climate. I cut it back hard every couple of years and give the ears away, they all live. I have stuck cuttings along the road and they always grow. It blooms when it wants to and jelly or wine are made from them.

Tony,
Don will just have to wait on these, Pat would skin us both.

Took a trip to Blairsville Georgia today to get some chicken nesting boxes, they were all junk so we didnt buy them. We left and drove to Murphy N. Carolina then home. We went that way just to enjoy the scenery, its really beautiful coming through the mountains. We stopped and had lunch in Ducktown, that's over by Turtletown.
I was given another load of lumber today so I went and looked at it and told the man I would be back in the morning to pick it up. I'm hoping to get enough to frame up the roof for the garden shed.

You were in Murphy and I was in west Asheville. I bet we weren't all that far apart.

We'll cross paths one day.

I called a buddy who runs a fabrication shop to see if he had a couple of steel pallets (they are 10'x5') he said he didnt but LaserJay did so I stopped by and he said bring a trailer. So today I went back and got a trailer load of pallets. LaserJay said come back in a week and get another load.

I’ve heard of wood pallets for free and I was somewhat lucky to get 10 nice plastic pallets fir free but I’ve never seen steel pallets. And free is a good thing. Pics?

be careful too cause guessing they aren’t light and our old backs just are not as rubbery as they once were.

Speaking of backs you feeling a bit better cause maybe stretching is helping?

Sorry Drives, I didnt explain that well. They are wooden pallets with two 10' 3x3s and about eight 48" 1x6s they are for shipping sheet steel on. We commonly call them 10x5s or steel pallets as that is the size steel sheet that comes on them. LaserJay owns East Tennessee laser, he cuts steel for almost every shop in this area. I should have thought of him myself as My shop was less than a block from his. I'll post up some pics of what I'm up to tomorrow.

The back is getting better
