Thanks S&A I know I'm going overboard on the chicken condo but I'm having fun with it, I bought the metal but the rest is all free pallet lumber.
who knows I may have to live in it someday.

That red truck was my Mothers truck and there is a whole long story that goes with it. Short story is it has 88,000 original miles on it, it's a 97, it has some kind of an LS1 option on it and factory duals, it ain't going nowhere.
A couple of the guys here on GJ have stopped buy to get a pic in it to yank Pines, and Uncle Willie's chain.

I know the truck has good history (Mom sure knew how to pick a truck), but like a good little brother that I am, I gotta poke the Pines and Uncle Willie when I can. The phrase I live by is: "I'm helping".

Tomorrow starts the Hwy. 411 yard sale for me. I got some of my stuff set up this evening.

Good looking period style pieces. All in very very nice condition. I really like the lamps on the end tables. Maybe someone will buy them as a set? I can see a young "hipster" couple liking that set.

My grand mother had a set like that, a different style (older, early 50s) but the exact same number and type of pieces. They are scattered and gone now, but I still have the faded "pink" love seat. I was told it had originally been maroon colored and faded to mauve aka pink.

I could easily collect lamps. Who am I kidding? I could easily collect anything that is cool!

I put that set together when I lived on campus at Bachman Academy. It was the style of the whole house. I even had a bed with open box springs, talk about jiggly!!!
I really hope it sells we dont really have room for it.

We got most of the (merchandise) in the lodge and started organizing.

It was a good day tomorrow should be better.

Wish I were closer I'd surely be making the drive for sure.
I hit the 400 mile yard sale in kentucky a few years ago. Had to kiss a lot of frogs before I found my kind of stuff but I did very well on that road trip.

I have much more fun buying and looking than I do stuck here selling. My bil's gf offered to buy me out because she says I'm giving it away, I told her to give me a number and I'm gone. This sale runs from Alabama up to around Knoxville. I bought my 50 Ford shoebox at this sale a few years ago. Closer to Alabama you get older stuff like cars and farm stuff, closer to Knoxville it's newer stuff like kids toys and furniture.

I lived in Knoxville... for a month... for the life of me... I can't remember the company I was consulting for. Beautiful views... cute girls. Town closed at 6pm on Sunday.

Pines, not anymore, Knoxville runs wide open 24/7 now.

Kirk, I haven't moved from the lodge for two days, I have sold a ton of stuff and made a couple of good contacts, I really need to get out and look around, I need to find some stainless steel pressure cookers to finish that tank. I'm supposed to go to Georgia tomorrow night.

It was a good time, we had about a 20 minute wait for a party of 7 so not bad, got a waitress that was trying very hard, it was her first night, she almost dumped a salid on my back but recovered nicely, no harm no foul.
Back to the yard sale for one more day, it is supposed to rain today

We used to have a Longhorn in Atlantic City... It was one of the best quality steaks in the town. Go figure. It's all about their suppliers. I have not been to a restaurant in almost 2 years now. My dietary requirements eliminate the option. Being allergic to butter and vegg oil... does that.

We went to a Longhorn once. Wasn't overly impressed. Texas Roadhouse is just as good, and much cheaper. Best steaks I've ever had were when I lived with my parents and we grew our own.

I took my admin staff there one time to study what good customer service was.

I've never been that impressed with Ruth Chris food...yes good but thought some other similar price point places were better but agree that they set the bar on top notch, consistent service

Here in Cleveland it's long horn or Logans road house so for my money it's long horn, there wild west shrimp is very good, its deep fried shrimp and about 5 different types of sliced pepper rings.
It used to be logans back in the day, the bartenders name was logan and he was the only guy that could make a better long island iced tea than me, the floor was covered in peanut shells, but with nut allergies we cant do that anymore. The best food by far is from Pat's kitchen but she was tired from working the yard sale so I wouldn't ask her to come home and cook.
The yard sale was a success, my trailer is almost empty, and I made a couple of contacts.

It was getting pretty thin by this morning.
We have a car show scheduled for October 16th then my commitments for the year will be done.

We did unload, as Donnie says a **** ton of stuff.
When I started doing this the objective was to clear out the shop of stuff I didnt want or need anymore. Any time a kid came in to the sale I made sure they left with something, I had a 5 gallon bucket of old screwdrivers that I put one dollar each on the bucket, a young lady offered 10 dollars for the whole bucket, I took it, she said her husband was going to be so proud of her, so I sold her the bucket of wrenches for another 10 bucks, now he can be twice as proud of her.
A man came in and wanted to know if I had more 50 Ford parts at home, I told him that I did, he is coming next week to buy me out, I need a few days to get things together.
I'm trying to decide if I'm going to fill the trailer up again or sell the trailer.


This is a pic inside from last year, this year it was full to the door, I was definitely overloaded, but only had to go about two miles.

With the red trailer, is this trailer redundant? I'm guessing no, that once you're done with the house reno, it'll go. I will always keep one small trailer around, so I say no.

I've got the red trailer its 26' enclosed, it will go when the remodel is done, I thought that would be better than renting pods to store my priceless **** in.
I bought the white trailer 10' enclosed, to clean out the shop and take the junk to the yard sale, it was supposed to be a one time thing then sell it but I've done so well with it that I'm not sure now. We sold over 10 grand from thursday to sunday.
The 18' car trailer was bought to flip but I've been using it so not yet.
The 10' dump trailer was bought to finish the yard and like you haul in gravel, then flip it. But the bil has it full of his **** and I have to borrow Donnies to haul gravel. I have a load of sand on the car trailer right now.
I probably need to buy another one just in case.

If 26' would hold a car, I'd keep it and the dump trailer. If not go with your original plan.

Welcome to trailer addiction, LOL. I have 2 tilts, 4 flat decks of various sizes, a 12 foot dump, and a 24 foot enclosed. Looking at a 16 foot dump, and maybe another tilt.

26' is perfect for a car but I dont trailer anything so it will go, the 64 wont fit in it when I get it done, it will be too wide and definitely too tall. The open car trailer would get the most use but Donnie has one like it, his has a wood deck this one has a steel deck.

I washed my yard sale trailer today, I didnt realize it was that dirty.
I think I'm going to make some signs to go on it.

The weather is getting cooler so I may attempt to finish the cool seal on the roof of the red one. It blistered the ospho when I treated it earlier this year so I decided to hold up a while. If I have any left over Il probably just do the white one also.

Uncle willie you just cant have too many trailers, between Donnie and me we have, 2 dumps, 2 18' car haulers, 26' and 10' enclosed, 14' utility, 30' goose, a boat trailer converted to a scaffold trailer full of scaffolding, 2 boat trailers, one boat, probably 10 little lawn and utility trailers, I want to hook them all up end to end like we did when we were kids.

I didn't even think to boat and mower trailers that would put me in the low 30s.

We're at 4, a 5'x10' utility, 33' travel, a garden tractor, and a 24' gooseneck (hopefully soon to become 30'), and I hope to keep it to that number.

Now you have me curious about the truck. it most likely wouldn't be an "LS1" option (unless they did it much later on), but it could be someone put an "LT1" engine in it, never heard of the factory doing it though/. Do you have any pictures of the engine? Don't worry, I only want burbs, to me that "truck" is just a hood, fenders, and a bumper.......

I dont know anything for sure about the truck, It was bought new by a cop, he bought a new truck every two years, the salesman would call me when he had the trade in, Dad would buy it and I would buy Dad's old one. It's a lot longer story.
The cop was known for getting lots of options and rare options. The salesman told Dad that this truck had some (corvette motor option) that's where the lt1 thing came from. I take it all with a grain of salt also. The truck has full factory dual exhaust no cross over or Y pipe, something I haven't seen before, and there have been issues when I have bought parts under the hood sometimes there different. When you look under the hood it looks like every other truck.
I always just grinned to myself and roll my eyes when Dad would tell that story to people. Now that I have to maintain it I'm not sure.
Until I put the taller tires on it it was a quick truck but the tires raised the (gear ratio) so it took a bunch out of it, now it's ok but not like it was.
I just need to get some numbers off of it and find out for sure what I'm talking about.
It was Moms last truck and it was left to me so that's my story, I have no plans to sell it or change it just maintain it and drive it as a daily driver.

Yep I have so much **** under the car port right now it wont fit.
I'm hoping by next year I have enough stuff sold that it will go in the garage.

HJ, I think you've stumbled onto a way to leverage some help. Tell Uncle Willie and Pines that you need their help to get their truck out of the weather. Just don't tell them you're getting the other one to help as well, and schedule them for different days.

I bought a cabin to go in the back yard, now I need to get the camper pulled out and sell it. I may have to cut down a tree to get it in there.
