I just picked up the fridge at an estate sale I dont know if it works or not, just took a chance. The stool is a really a common stool around here, they are about 30 bucks at the resale shops, I was about to toss it out while I was cleaning the basement but found out that it used to belong to a friends grandfather, so it's going back to her, when I get it finished.
I got sidetracked this morning, Pat wants to go to the laundry mat and wash quilts so I am gathering shop rags to wash while I'm there with her.

Never hit a lick today
Sat and watched the laundry mat run, I dont wash shop rags in Pat's machine!
Then we went to the Boys and Girls club and gave them a check
The profit from the car show will help them buy christmas for many of the 260 familys/ children that attend the club, they buy clothing and shoes before they buy toys, but they do get toys!

Jim, I occasionally wash my garage terry towels in Liane's machine but before they go in I put them in a 5-gallon plastic bucket with lots of Tide, degreaser and bleach. The Tide is good stuff but apparently I'm allergic to something in it. A couple of days soaking and regular poking with a stick loosens the crud and after a couple of rinses can go in Liane's hallowed chamber of suds machine.

When I build a shop I want to put a mold washer and dryer in it for rags. Wonder if I know anyone that might be able to get some.

Got some more of the cieling done today, it's really starting to get to my back and neck.
The damn Chinese can lights are ¼" bigger than the hole saw so I'm going to modify the hole saw to finish the other 16 holes. We have family coming in tomorrow and they will be here for several days so I may be done for a while.

Bugnut, I really like the can lights, they came from Amazon and I have used them several places. I installed 10 in my bil's bedroom and two in his master closet, they were in drywall so I didnt notice the fit so much. They will be fine with a little work.

Kirk, yep, its changing a lot. Dalton stopped in last night and he was blown away. We ordered power to powder coat the metal furniture, so I need to take it apart and get all the parts to him this weekend.

I can work with Pat, I hired her around 2005 to work at the school as my assistant in maintenance we always had fun at work the whole crew was a blast, there were 7 or 8 of us. When I decided to move on to something else, I asked her to marry me, she is still the only one I can get along with while working a project.
We always have thanksgiving here, the croud varies from year to year but everyone has a good time. I hope you and yours have a great Thanksgiving and a great visit also.
Jayman, Pat is loving it, this will be her place, she will putter here forever. Happy thanksgiving!
Zanyad, we were going to use boiled linseed oil(Drives favorite) but I did some samples and the smell didnt set well with her so she is going to go smell shopping to see if there is a better choice for her. We want to keep it natural.
Drives, my friend, It will be a 22 lbs dressed weight turkey, a 12 lb ham, and more sides than one family should be allowed to have. Pies, and other treats. There will be a feast like no other. We cleaned and stocked the sun room just in case we need the spill over room.
Eventually I will start raising bourbon red turkeys again and supply my own birds for the meal, but Butterball answered the call this year.
I hope you and yours will have as magnificent a meal and as great a time with your family.

I modified the hole saw today and drilled two holes, and the lights fit perfect.
I cut four pieces of blade two teeth each off of a saber saw blade and mig welded them to the hole saw. It was a handful but it cut two perfect holes and I was happy with the results.
The two holes on the right were cut with the redneck holesaw.
The family has started to arrive.
Charlie (my sil) is the fire bug, so I had several piles of scrap pallet lumber staged for him to burn, he lit the fire pit and the burn barrel both, he is having a good time.
I lit the grill and burnt some steaks and asparagus while they made salid and baked potatoes in the house.
Then me and Juju retired to my recliner, this may be it for me for a day or two. Happy thanksgiving to all my friends here at GJ, I hope you all have a great time with the important people in your life this holiday season.

HJ, that is a brilliant idea to increase your hole-saw size. Might want to consider water based urethane on that ceiling, dries quickly to crystal clear with no fumes when dry. Very few fumes if any when applying too and won’t yellow with age. Enjoy your big feast!

Jay, I did look at that early on but with my back and neck problems I dont think I could sand and coat three times.

The tongue and groove ceiling looks good. I have thought about using that in my garage. What are you using to nail it?
Also, that hole saw is a beast. I bought a 6" hole saw to put in our stove exhaust vent through the wall and that thing is dangerous when it grabs. I have a side handle I put on the drill that made it manageable.

Welder, I bought the wood on marketplace it is a 3'x 3'x 8' bunk of lumber, I'm using 2" sprigs with my air nailer. 2" is a little long but that's what I had here.
You are right that 6" saw is a bear to hold onto, the cleats about doubled the grabbing power, you could brake a wrist pretty quick.

Jim, I see asparagus on various BBQ’s and over here I also cook it in any way that I can, plus eating it raw as I pick them when I go walking up on the farm.
Is asparagus an expensive vegetable/shoot over where you are, or cheap/expensive as anything else?
my favourite is possibly oven grilled, with a bit of olive oil, garlic and coarse salt before serving Alongside a grilled rack of ribs.
Usually a Friday night treat.

I used to pick wild asparagus when I lived near chicago but I have not seen any growing wild here near Chattanooga,
Like you, we drizzle with olive oil and garlic salt. I like it on the grill it gets a slight char on the ends, and I can get a sample or two while cooking.

So I broke my shotgun a while back, if it were just any shotgun I would have thrown it out and bought another one, but this one was Dads.
The ring that broke off was a cold weld that only covered about half of the surface that it should have.
At first I thought it was my fault but after looking closer, it never was welded correctly.
I called my other bil Scott and discussed with him how I was going to fix it, and he said he would come down and help.
I got busy and forgot to get a pic of the tinning process, it took all four hands to complete. It tinned nice and we located where it needed to go and clamped it, added a little more heat and silver solder.
It came out nice, and the blueing was still mostly intact.
Scott had some cold blueing and did a nice job touching up the sand marks.
We went out and fired off a couple shells to test the weld, I'm happy with the results. Dad got me in 1958 and this Hawthorne Viking in 1961, in 1973 Dad quit hunting and gave it to me and has been the only shotgun I have ever carried in the field hunting. It broke my heart for two reasons that day, It was Dads and I was kicking this guys and his Benelli's **** at the hunt club on the trap range, the barrel actually fell off. Today was a great day.

That is a cool story. I'm all warm a fuzzy right now. For me, it's my Grandpa's 3/8" Snap-On ratchet he got when he came home from WWII. Finish is very rough, but it still functions well, and gets used frequently. Thanks for sharing that one, it was a good way to start the day.
