We have a forest fire that's been going for a couple of days. I haven't had a chance to talk to anyone there so I'm not sure exactly what happened yet!

I've been working in the basement nailing more boards to the cieling, no pics cuz it looks just like the last one just farther along. I hoping to finish tomorrow.
I put up my Christmas wreath you cant tell from the pic but its 6' tall.
My bil Scott and me are going to see my buddy Ken Weller this Saturday he has a 3D print farm and Scott wants to get into 3D so we are going to get some wisdome.
Ken is a pretty smart guy and I have always enjoyed hanging out with him, he was my neighbor many years ago.

I really want to get into 3-D printing. We even have one, but SWMBO won't load the software onto her laptop (I don't have a personal laptop). I think it'll be a useful tool.

Kirk, I have a laptop with the cad programs for the plas table, plotter, and the laser engraver on it now, I'll add the 3D to it and it will pretty much be dedicated to cad programs. I bought a new laptop this summer to put my music on so that will free up space on the cad laptop.

I found one on Amazon on sale for 199.00 but I am going to talk to Ken before I do it, I know he will tell me about something out there I dont know about. I dont need to get into anything new, I have too much started already but I cant help myself sometimes.

I had a friend ask me to post some picks of the shop.
I'll start in the back, it's not finished as I'm planning on another addition back here, about 20'x 20'
The lean too additions are all wood there both 14'x 36'

I did get most of the cieling finished today, had to stop when I realized I needed an hdmi cable for the cctv system. Looks like a trip to the store tomorrow.

Rough numbers are around 600 dollars, so not too bad.
Chris, it is bright, Pat wants a canning kitchen so it needs light. They are on three seperate switches so normaly I dont think all 21 will be on at the same time,

I had some delivery to make this morning so I stopped by walmart and they had a 25' hdmi cable so I got it.
When I got home I ran the cable and reworked the outlet box on the wall and everything fit, I have racked my brain trying to make sure everything I could need is in the cieling, I hope it's all in there because it's too late to go back.
I got the yard decorated for Christmas.
I mowed the grass and mulched leaves again.
I needed a warming plate for the chicken waterer to set on this winter.
I cut off about four inches of the bottom of the barrel and rolled a piece of 26 gauge galvanized steel around the lip of the barrel.
I put a 100 watt light bulb inside the barrel and fit the galvanized lid onto the bottom. You can see the cord coming out the back side where I buried it in the sand to keep the chickens away from it. This will keep there water from freezing this winter.

Oh, Tony it is like a custard. Only thing is most cooks put too much sugar in it, Pat cuts back a little and the tast is great.
1 ½ cups sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk together first 2 ingredients in a large bowl. Whisk eggs and next 4 ingredients into flour mixture; pour into 9" Pie Crust.
Bake at 350°F for 35 to 45 minutes or until almost set, shielding edges with aluminum foil after 15 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack, and cool 1 hour.
As they say in the south,
Dont get any on your forehead or your tongue will slap your brains out getting at it.

HJ, that buttermilk pie sounds like a good one. Custard pie with the tang of buttermilk.

Not much going on here, I have been helping the bil with his house.
This was his laundry room, we moved it to a new room and started demo on this room. We had to take the whole floor out because the po used 2x6s for floor joists and it had a spring to it. We will cut the concrete floor back and pour a footer and a knee wall like it should have been done in the beginning.

Correct, that one has been there for a few years.
The new one is still in the sales lot waiting for my ground to dry out or freeze.
Went Christmas shopping for Pat today. She wanted a new kitchen island. Totally her choice! She is so easy to shop for.

Jim, Liane was the same way but the tool chest was in Costco. The green felt liners in the drawers were a nice touch. I wanted to put the included wood vise on the end but that idea was vetoed.

These doors have been bothering me for a while, I didnt like the way they were installed. Originally there were barn doors on the opening when we bought the place so we threw up this set of free French doors and used osb to flush out the opening just to get the place secured.
I was only going to remove part of the framing but when I got into it I found some rot so I pulled everything out and started over.
I am going to have the whole wall stuccoed in the spring so I put concrete board over OSB so it would be a stronger wall.
From the inside.
It got dark on me.

Good to see the OSB gone. I kind of like french doors. They make getting things in and out of a space so much easier. Never had them in a house until this one.

Kirk, I cant wait till we get to the point where we can stucco all of that wall and the stairs, it will be nice to check this one off the list. The french doors were nice but that set was tired.

They finally got smart and included three long screws to go in the hinges. It took about 10 minutes to square the door and anchor it.
It took about two hours to remount the hinges onto the door straight and pull the window out and set it back straight.
It's in and done now!!!
