Still not feeling good, I used some cbd oil on my neck, it helps the arthritis in my hands so maybe it will help.

I did recoat this corner with a light coat of mud as it was a little hollow and being next to the light switches I would see it every time I come into the room. I sanded and painted it this morning. Let it dry and see if we have a winner!
Going to the bil's place to let him help me install a shower valve in his new fiberglass shower, I do like drilling holes in expensive stuff and then exclaim UH-OH right after!

Got the bil handled his valve is working like any good Chinese temp sensing valve would work.


I did some more to the basement.

This box is going to be for a power strip.

I had to make some custom fittings to make it work.

I drilled the cover plate. Now I'm waiting on the paint to dry. This power strip will be mounted on the block wall and I have an antique buffet that will sit under it and will be where the printer and 3D printer will sit.

There isn't much to do while watching the paint dry so some 151 rum and coke were in order.

There was a very large HO gauge train collection at the first place we went, they had a Burlington engine, coal car, and a caboose that I would like to have had but I resisted.
The rest was kind of lame stuff.
I have been looking for a corded drill for the shop,
they had three but were all only ⅜"I would like a ½". The second place was a bust.
Last week I went to one that had about 100 gum ball machines, I was helping the bil and lost my focus, I didnt get any and now I'm regretting that one, they were nine dollars each.

See if this app works in your area, I have filters set up and they email me a list of sales within 30 miles of me every week. They post pictures of the individual sales so you can get a feel for what will be there.

Thanks Kirk, I do appreciate that. I'm taking it as easy as I can and doubled my hydros.
I did do a little in the basement, I also cut up some scrap wood and stacked it at the burn barrel, I have been telling Jay that I would pick up pallets for over a week so I went and got them, I didnt try to unload them but I did get them home.

They are 5'x 10' and about half of them are all 2x4s so thats 3, 10' 2x4s and 6, 5' 2x4s from each pallet. I'm going to add onto the garden shed and wrap it with metal so there is probably enough wood to do the job. When I got home we moved the yard sale trailer to the basement door and took everything we could out of the basement and put it in the trailer then we cleaned and vacuumed the basement. We plan on coating the cieling tomorrow.

They are, some of them are very good quality hardwood.
Pat's daughter and son in law are moving to Athens Tn. (that's a lot closer than Morgan co. Tn.) He has about 200 game birds that he is bringing with him, he called and asked if I could get him some. I will pick out what I need and pass the rest of them to him. Jay has about 50 more, each one has one or two sheets of steel on them waiting there turn on the laser, should haul a bunch of them out over the summer.

Yes, they are all free. I have turned a couple of pieces on the lathe and they come out great.

I felt better today so we decided to poly the cieling,


It took almost two gallons for one coat, we'll let it dry and inspect and sand before the second coat.
I'm thinking about gluing steel wool to the sandpaper on my pole sander. Four ought steel wool is perfect to lightly scuff poly between coats.
The way my neck feels right now it may be a couple days before we get to the second coat.
Looks like we have some bad weather coming in tonight, they already have us under a tornado watch until 10:00 tonight.



Time to get supper before the power goes out.

It was,
The storms were very spotty and we got luckey this time, we had loads of thunder and some rain, never lost power.
The smell from the basement started bothering Pat and Kay so we put a fan in the bedroom window and opened some on the other end of the house, shut off the furnace and I went to bed. Woke up this morning feeling much better than I thought I would.

The cieling looks good today. It will need a scuff and second coat as expected. I spent the day doing lawn chores, I wasnt going to look up at all today!
The neighbor had a skid steer doing some work at his house so I grabbed the operator/owner and asked him for a quote on doing a couple of jobs for me, he is supposed to be here next week to get the old concrete driveway pulled out and level the dirt behind the shop. That will be a big help.

I remember when I was a kid and a neighbor had a cow hit by lightning. He hired a backhoe to come bury it. Before that guy could finish that job he had six others, my dad included. He made a lot of money on that little dirt road that week.

I spent the day moving things, I got the generator, propane tank, and other stuff out of the small carport, then I unloaded pallets off the trailer.

Then I had several stacks behind the shop, some got moved to the woods, some behind the chicken coop.

These are going to my sil, he and Pat's Daughter bought some land and he has to house about 200 game birds. He'll need several more loads. I moved everything that was behind the shop and I'm ready for my dirt work. I just got a call from a buddy and he has access to crusher run and 57s gravel for cheap so that came in just in time. Donnie said he wants all of the concrete driveway to reinforce the dam on his pond so that gets hauled next door

Unless your boy is hardening overflows, outflows and emergency spillways, you don't want chunky stuff as part of your dam. Just like you don't want trees on or near your dam. Clay overlaid with grass are the preferred materials.

That's what he is doing, he wants as big of pieces as we can get and he is going to lay them on the overflow wall along the outside.

The original problem with the dam wall was that a tree root grew though it and the water followed the root and undermined the dam. It had a water spout shooting out for a couple of days before it failed. The dam was about 20 years old. The new dam is all clay and there is a liner material buried on the water side about two feet down to prevent tunneling.

Had to go to town to get parts today, this is why I stay home. This is the 3rd time this week.

I feel bad for these guys, they need experience but they dont pay attention, this thing is marked way back multiple times.

We had one of those bridges in Pontiac. It had alarms, but truckers still seem to get stuck under it all the time.

There is a raised RR crossing in Kings Mountain that twice a year some genius truck driver leaving a mill would get stuck on, and hit by a train. They finally narrowed it down so much there is no way for a truck to get through it.

We have 2 in Glenville. About 300' apart. They rebuilt the bridges and raised them significantly. Idiots still hit them. A couple weeks ago the bridges got hit within a couple days.
