Just realized we’re about two months out from HJE Day 2024 and there’s no thread yet! It'll be hard to beat last year when I won those drill bits but I’ll still spend too much many anyway I’m sure.

I hope we get more construction cat swag this year, the artwork (and the prayer candle) was a huge hit in my household.

Moderator edit:
I have merged the HJE 2024 thread with the Thoughts and Prayers thread. So this year, the annual HJE will have a slight bit more than usual.

I look forward to this every year. I was just looking yesterday to see if a thread had been started for Epstein Day 2024.

Also looking forward to ordering this year.

Take a minute to confirm your ability, NOW, to log-in to your account on their site. They've changed the website some and logins are apparently a known issue. If you have issues, you'll have to email them for correction (address at the top of the login page). Should be an easy solution, but extra steps, and I bet they get a flood of requests right before Epstein Day.

Took 31 minutes from the time I emailed (an hour+ before opening) until I had a response. Thanks, Jori, for the fast service.

My wishlist is full, pending Epstein Day!

What exactly is Harry J. Epstein Day? Big sale, or what exactly is happening?
Here is a good start.

Not so much a giant sale as our supporting a great hardware store that has a lot of American-made tools (Malco!), old surplus finds, new tools, too (Wera, Knipex) at fair prices (not always rock bottom, but fair enough). There are often freebies and promotional items tossed in, and a few sales on some items, but mostly it's us showing our support for them and their old store in downtown KC, MO.

We also use this thread to talk about things we've noticed they have lately, or what we plan to buy. I just discovered they have some military surplus thermal base layer shirts. $6, neat!

You never know what you'll find there if you poke around the website. Get a good deal on a dental pick! Or some Korean-war era military surplus twine! They don't make twine like that anymore. Or a fair price on the nicest vise-grip style pliers America has made (MALCO.)

Looks like it's sold out, but I want to say that last year's T shirt with the construction cat on it is a very nice shirt. I often don't like T shirts with artwork on them, they often feel thick and heavy. This one breathes nicely, is very soft.

Jori, does the cat still live on the streets?

I haven't seen him in a while. He disappears for months at a time though, shows up randomly after a hard night out, sleeps it off then leaves again. Love that guy. Last known photo:

Ah, orange tomcat! Odds are very good you're not his only household. They can be very outgoing, and walk right into somebody else's life/home.

Last year's artwork was a big hit with my wife and daughter as we got a drawing of our two black and white "tuxedo" greyhounds, Bonnie and Clyde. My wife had kept a drawing of our previous greyhound, Martha. She pulled it out to reminisce and noticed that on that artwork, there was a small halo over Martha's head. It brought a little tear to my wife's eye as Martha had died of old age the year before. It's a little thing, but that drawing meant a lot more than any discount on chineseum **** at a big box store.

As someone that has been participating in Epstein's Day since nearly the beginning and has been a long time customer of Epstein's even longer; essentially Epstein's Day is a day to appreciate American made products sold at a small family owned and operated old school hardware store.

For me it's not about discounts, "swag" or free items so much as this to support a great business with immense knowledge and truly some of the best people not only in the industry. This is truly an honor and privilege to be able to support Epstein's.

Just a thought, if Jori wants to add a competition on for a meme for that picture this year with the cat, I'll throw in $25 for a HJE gift card to the winner.
This is a good idea and we will cover the 25 bucks.
Does Epstein's ship to Canada? I didn't see anything on their website, wondered if anyone has done that before.
We do ship to Canada!

You can search past threads but, it's not so much about tool sales. At it's core, it's about supporting a small business and buying American made tools/stuff. The 4th of July theme is perfect for this, Mom, Seared flesh, apple pie, fireworks, red, white, and blue etc.

there might be swag with certain purchase amounts. The box art is great and worth waiting for. It's not what Epstein's can do for you, it's what you can do to support Epstein's & American tool manufacturers. I know it's a lost concept.

How it started

I guess when you roll a few in advance, and the humidity sticks them together, you can safely break them apart?

Knipex Twin Grip, in stock at a fair price!

(OK, this inventory amount (9) probably won't last until July 4.)
