Hi, my name is Sharon. I'm finalizing the purchase of my own little slice of heaven in Cass County, Missouri. I got a great deal on it, because.... wait for it.....there's NO GARAGE! The garage to this property burned in April 2012. There is a very nice 24' x 32' concrete pad that I would like to put some sort of garage on. The pad looks sound, no cracking, and feel solid when hit with a hammer. I have no idea of the thickness at the entrance, but the yard slopes and I know the back of the pad is two feet high. I would welcome any suggestions on what kind of two car garage I can build over this existing pad for under $10,000. I know, ha ha, but I'm serious, that's all I have to work with after buying this property. I'm thinking pole barn type, but was wondering if there is any way to anchor a pole barn to the concrete, or do I have to excavate and pour a footer around the whole slab? Can I put concrete around each pole individually? I am woefully ignorant on this subject and may be in over my head. I'd just buy a carport, but I don't want to store my new motorcycle in there and have no where else to store it.
