Finally bit the bullet and took Jensputier up on some discount pricing he's offering on Hazet Assistents. in the process, I picked out a few tool sets in the foam inserts built to fit in the trays. Left a few spaces empty to accommodate the few German tools I already had. These little carts are pretty slick! Not a ton of storage but enough for what I need it for and folds small enough not to take up much room. This was a good feature for me as the bay that its going in doesn't have a lot of free space. It also easily fits in the hatch area of my VW GTI. Anyways, enough babbling, here's a few pictures......

3/8 set, 1/4 set, fine tooth 1/2 and 1/4 ratchet' bit ratchet and open end wrenches

2 sets of Hazet screwdrivers and Wera chisel drivers, ESD set, 1/4 Zyklops set, NWS pliers and cutters

Here's a few goodies Jens put in the package...couple pairs of gloves and a really cool tool case. As far as I can tell, it's built to fit the foam tool inserts in case you need to take the tools with you.

All in all, it's an awesome setup for me. I understand this type of tool cart isn't to everyone's tastes. if you're after huge tool storage like a full sized cart or toolbox will give you, This cart isn't for you. If you're looking for a nice compact place to store your most commonly used tools where space is a premium and where you'd need a smaller workspace, this ones worth a look.

I'll also give a plug to Jensputier.....awesome seller and all around great guy. His no pressure, no rush approach and his willingness to take the time to make recommendations to me helped me to pick out what I think is a great starter set of German tools. The freebies he threw in were a nice surprise and a great bonus!

2 thumbs up to Jens and Hazet!

If anyone needed proof that Monte has an influence here...

Tools look great! There's some serious coin there.

Thanks...it wasn't just Monte, it was pretty much all the posters in the old world tools thread that I'd like to blame for this!, lol. Actually I've always admired European tools. This forum just kinda pushed me over the edge!!

Yeah, tell me about it. I've been slowly making my way through that thread (and I only say "slowly" because it's almost five hundred pages long) and I've developed some new and wickedly expensive tool fetishes as a result.

Nice looking box! Almost makes me wish I had gotten the C.

Absolutely spectacular! Gorgeous set up!

I ordered a print catalogue from Jens. Agreed, he seems to be upstanding gent in our email exchanges. I haven't ordered anything yet. Speaking of pushing oneself over the edge......:) Thanks for posting the pics!

Yes, I do have to spend extra time with the european stuff as it's satin finish and harder to bring to a shine but I'm sure the Snap On stuff will appreciate the break from the polishing compounds.....but it's all going to be OK. i have come up with a polishing schedule that the head tools from each brand have agreed to. there was some dicey negotiations but in the end, everyone wins......oh for God's sake.....hope you can tell Im joking....I often don't have time to use the damn things as much as I'd like to....let alone polish em!

and Mr Chamberlain.........hows about you open up one of those collector sets you have there and expose them to the air?!?!?!?hmmm??? hard to polish them behind the plastic wrapping!! bwaaahaaahaaa....I kid...I kid...

merry Christmas...yep. wife's still a little upset at me for ruining her christmas gift plans...I'm sure she'll get over it and figure out another plan :p

and thank you everyone for the comments. this little cart and the tools in it have so far lived up to the level of quality I've expected from them. Really like the fact that I can fold the assistent down and roll it under a workbench out of the way. Also like the slim heads on the wrenches and the handles on the screwdrivers. Hazet definitely knows what they're doing.

Sweetness... I prefer the classic model for looks, but those foam organizers are nioce. And the little suitcase for them is awesome! Jens is great with sending his freebies, too.

Here's what is looks like if you cant use foam:
