It depends for what or what kind of tool. What uses and where your working. It all depends.

Just for my home garage. I want to make it a real man cave.
I love the Snapon ratchets, but also love the Hazet carts. I am used to stilck to one brand, but this is hard

Both..or more..pick what you like best from each brand and go for it. Doesn't have to be snap on or Hazet. Most of my hand tools are from 8 or 10 different brands and my box and carts are also from different suppliers. It's all about personal preference and perception of quality vs affordability.
Either way, have fun shopping!!

Socket and wrenches I go with the hazet over the snappy. Ratchet snappy. It all depends on what tools you are getting.

Unless you want one brand for everything you most likely will find snappy a bit easier.

This is the right answer, but there's just something about this setup that REALLY appeals to me.

Not everyone has hazet, allot more exotic then snappy. It is allot more of a talking point and in the US you can make friends more envious with the hazet.

Not completely true... Most of my mechanic friends would look at me like " :dunno: the fawk is Hazet?", and even after explaining to them, they would still shrug it off. Now if I had a KRL full of Snappy tools in my home garage, you can bet your *** I would be the envy of all my friends...

I think for things that are going to require parts and service; such as ratchets, torque wrenches, torx bit sockets, etc. It maybe a good idea to stick with brands that are USA made; easier to get the parts, service you need, plus a lifetime usa based/accessible warranty. Do you have a dealer in your area; for either of these brands? I think both Hazet and Snap-on have a historically known, established brand, collecting fan base, cult following; so, they both would have good resale value. Hazet makes some excellent tools especially if you are into European cars; some of German tools do not have a USA equivalent. Seems to me; here in the USA, most techs buy German tools for specific specialty applications; buy USA for the rest. Sounds like you would have the best of both worlds by pick and choosing the best tool brand for each item you choose; neither brand maybe able to supply you with everything you need or desire.

If you really want too impress your friends in your man cave you are going about it all wrong.

Set up a pole in the middile of your garage.
Invite all your best friends over for a barbecue.
pay for a stripper to dance in your Man Cave.

I don't think any man is going to take any notice of you Hazet or snap on tools...

PS: we all want an invite that day.

Hazet or Snap-on?
Which one would you go with?

From an indulge stand point either. From an economical stand point, neither.

They both make some really nice stuff. Snap-On would probably be more impressive from a "hey look my tools look like new bling and cost just as much" standpoint.

I disagree!

I quote the best sig. in G.J
-Outlaw

“A Human Being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, give orders, take orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”

- Lazarus Long
Any "man cave" worth mentioning should be a display of above mentioned achievements.

It is a tough question and one that can be debated till the end of the century and still battle there will be. Here are the reasons I picked up all and only Hazet

1: Foam modules, snap-on does not offer such OCD complete storage options. It can be debated that it takes more place and you can have less stuff in the same drawer. This is absolutely right. You can also stack on top of each other everything to put more in the same drawer in a total mess, it's not what an OCD does. I like it clean and neat at all times. If I need more tools and I am running out of place, I will buy a second assistent.

2: I HATE the chrome look on all snappy tools. I am not talking quality here, I am only talking of the finish and look. There is something noble in the Hazet finish. it's a bit like watches. Some prefer Rolexes as everyone will recognize the bling from miles away, I much prefer a GO or A. Lange, that most people will think it's only a cheap timex. You have to like your choice. When I slide a drawer open, my eyes go wide open. When I grab a wrench, I feel in my hands that I have something special I can trust. Go out in stores, play with the tools, feel them, look at how it's built and why, evaluate and not only base your opinion on some forum members, at the end it's your money not theirs ;)

3: I have no idea on what car brand you work, so it can also influence your choice, Hazet only makes metric tools, so if you ever need SAE, you are basically stuck with no options. I only work on german cars so it's no problem for me.

4: all in all, it's a matter of choices, There is also something I keep in mind at all times. I try to avoid as much as I can asian made products but this is another subject. If all companies do this, then there will be no more jobs in Europe and America. I prefer to pay more and keep jobs where they are now opposed as sending my money to a company driven by profit only. I stopped buying Facom quite some time ago as they are making more and more tools in Asia. I am not talking quality here, just a matter of locations made. I have nothing against asian products, just that they are not allowed in my home as much as I can.

5: You can mix and match as other forum members said, I fully agree. I have a cabinet for all non hazet stuff, and I use NWS pliers that in my opinion are far better than Hazet. I got the Hazet pliers as they were in the kit, and when I roll my trolley somewhere else, I still have pliers on hand, not the best IMO but still available and nicely stored.

6: Know you and who you are, do you like quantity or quality. I sometimes see toolboxes with 3 or 4 similar ratchets, do you really need that much. I find one of each type I can rely on is enough. It also depend what you do with it.

Hope it helped a little !

With such a nice 850, I clearly see an Hazet assistent on the side of it. But again,my opinion is quite biased... :)

What do you want to see ?

The best option is to find a local store that carry Hazet and you spend 30 min to 1 hour playing with them. Holding the screwdrivers etc.

Well, I just love to see garages with Hazet tools. I have seen so many with snap on and craftsman. There are actually few that have hazet.
I started my madness with a 3/8 set from S/O but they are so hard to get in europe.

 Always loved the 8 series

To make it a bit more difficult for you - have you ever thought about Gedore? :)

Do you have a any snap-on dealer in iceland? I know that its already in germany hard to find snapon products - I mean its not impossible but compared to hazet, gedore, stahlwille which you can find in many stores.
