I just ran across this on samstagsales.com; a Black Forrest Independent Mercedes service shop is building a Hazet based tool "clean room"! Autoace: you can dream can't you? :)

They need to paint the Work benches, engine stands, etc. in Hazet colors to match. They need to do something with the stark white walls too. It looks good though.

From what they were saying; the specialty tools are going to be put up on the walls; so far, it just looks like they brought the stuff into the room.... the Hazet "stuff" looks nice though, right? :) I'm sure more is coming in...

Back from the dead...

I check this forum every day or two in hopes that there will be new pictures of German tools. Time to stop lurking, and start posting.

Hazet 2574-1 & 2574 - Valve tappet depressors. Used in conjunction with Hazet 2599 for the removal of valve adjustment shims, on VW and Audi Solid lifter motors. These two are not interchangeable.
3429705767_5fe322903f_o.jpg

Hazet 2574-1 & 2574 - Design of cylinder head changed in 1983(?), moving the valves farther apart in order to address a head cracking issue between the valves.
3429705873_71b8553d66_o.jpg

Hazet 2599 - Valve shim pliers. Used with the above, for the removal of valve adjustment shims on VW and Audi solid lifter motors.
3429706729_5da5f88123_o.jpg

Hazet 4560 - For hard diesel fuel injection lines at injection pump and injectors on IDI VW and Audi cars.
3429706113_07f30c3da7_o.jpg

Hazet 4560 - For hard diesel fuel injection lines on IDI VW and Audi cars. This works like a charm... almost as if it were designed for the task.
3430518520_ed7496f06a_o.jpg

Hazet 4555N - For Bosch IDI diesel injectors. 1/2" dr., deep, 27mm, 12pt., with recess for fuel overflow connections.
3429706251_b27ec61dd4_o.jpg

Hazet 4555N - I know it is hard to see, but this thing is beautifully machined. It should be - given what it cost.
3429706317_aab3d91748_o.jpg

Hazet 2593 - Used for the proper tensioning of 22mm suspension strut nuts on VW and Audi cars. 1/2" dr., 6 point.
3429706395_cc4acf3c73_o.jpg

Hazet 2593 - Mine is 6pt., others I've seen are 12pt., though the nuts are all 6pt.
3429706465_e33b5b25d0_o.jpg

Hazet 2593-1 - 7mm hex with plastic handle. Used with Hazet 2593 to torque suspension strut nuts to 52ft.lbs. (70Nm). I wish the handle was a little longer - though it doesn't really flex at this length.
3429706559_f0d042e739_o.jpg

Hazet 791-5 - Valve stem seal pliers. For "single" valve engines (not multi valve).
3430519238_385c95d175_o.jpg

Hazet 791-5 - The business end. Grooved for traction on oily stem seals.

I work on BMW suspensions all the time and I should really hunt down one of those 22mm part #2593. It sure would have made life easier a few times.

I use them on the ball joint of my BMW motorcycle front suspension. The 7mm Hex key will hold the stud through the cut out on the socket while you torque down the nut.

Ha ! i found the company who makes the small ratchets (and a lot of others) www.newtools.com (Hi-Five Products)
Since the trademark/word-mark "Reverse Gear" is registered by Hi-five they also should make these screwdrivers or have someone who makes them for hi-five !?

***Note to Self: The next time you want to keep the company you work for a secret on an online forum, do not use a login name that is the same as a trademark owned by your company. Idiot.***

Monte, your outstanding German intellect and persistence has outed me. You too, Superautobacs. My name is Karl, and I work for Hi-Five.

This is pretty cool info. It was my first time seeing the newtools site. I didn't know it was buried in this Hazet thread.

Nice Hazet 916 ratchet !!! It`s from the end of the 1950`s !
rare find ! Thanks for sharing !

Hi everyone. Sorry to bring this one back from the dead, but I was digging through a little-used box of mine and ran across an old Hazet ratchet (along with a Craftsman 9/32-drive socket set from the '30s). I'd forgotten I had it and my poking around on the 'net didn't turn up much besides this thread. Since it's unusual and since it needed a rebuild I thought I'd take some photos. If anybody has an idea when it was made I'd be interested in knowing.

A bigger version of that photo and shots of the internals are here:

Anyway, just thought I'd share a bit of old Germany with everyone. Cheers.

What is the part number for this regular driver? Thanks...

"866 U"

Also, are all the handles that used to be black black/blue now?

It´s a mix... simple screwdrivers are still black for example, higher priced ones blue/black. Ratchets blue/black except the composite ratchets. The flexible driver above is still black too....

My Matco guy has Hazet on the truck and I've ordered Hazet stuff when I worked as a lube tech for VW off the Mac truck.

I love hazet and stahlwille tools, I have a small collection going rite now. Just recently picked up a special spark plug socket for the early BMW M series cars. I believe the SAE equivalent is 11/16", pretty un common spark plug.

Earlier in the tread someone asked about a comparison with Hazet. For smoothness I think Facom Hazet then Stahlwille. Best made (fit and finish) I am thinking Stahlwille and Facom then Hazet. The most comfortable handle which is a big factor for me goes to Stahlwille then Hazet. I hate the handle on the Facom. It is a hard plastic that is too short for my hands. I believe all of these have the steel the same dimensions running through the handle. I mention that as Snap On cuts down the diameter on its comfort grips and for me the longer the handle the more out of balance it feels. The fine tooth ratchets in the photo all other than the Hazet 900 set are a Facom design and how they hold up in comparisons I can’t comment as I am waiting to get back into the service industry at the moment and time will tell. I like the Hazet ratchets the best out of these and will be getting more.

I have found that the Hazet fine tooth ratchets are the smoothes anywhere. The Stahlwilles (60 tooth) are excellent ratchets all around, but not as smooth. I think it all boils down to personal taste. I would be equally happy with a tool collection from Stahlwille/Gedore/Hazet.

So THAT'S where all the Hazet tools are--Hazet's got them!:shocking:

Awesome shots!

But, don't you guys feel like getting rid of some pieces--a few 600 wrenches, maybe one of those speeders, a socket or two???:lol_hitti

Really cool stuff:thumbup:

Can't help myself

Hazet makes awesome tools.

Truly, the Hazet long sockets, both 3/8 and 1/2 are the coolest thing ever.

The breaker bars don't have a hole for a tommy bar, which is a minus.
