Never thought I would ask this. But how long is yours?

What’s real or what I tell my wife :bounce:?

Maybe I have more in my collection, but this is what I found. Did some research in the old catalogues and found out the 764 is for VW. I thought the longer type was for Porsche but can’t find info about that. Probably the specialists know a lot more about it then I do. From the catalogue I learned there’s a 215, 225 and 230mm version, the small ones in the foto IMO. Don’t fully understand how I should measure it. The second to smallest one is the one I found yesterday. The one with the box is a big A one.

I liked the shape of the handle on this hammer:

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/ccassan/49211496108/in/datetaken-public/" title="Hazet"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49211496108_9fb89392a7_c.jpg" width="450" height="800" alt="Hazet"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Has a more squared shape than the conventional oblong or circular handle:

1/4 drive ratchet next to 1/4" bit ratchet:

I was quite displeased by the machining on the ball ends of these INBUS rebrands!

I liked the shape of the handle on this hammer:

Has a more squared shape than the conventional oblong or circular handle:

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/ccassan/49212205592/in/datetaken-public/" title="Hazet"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49212205592_6c11617f1b_c.jpg" width="450" height="800" alt="Hazet"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I have the same hammer (size 35) and love it. Gets a spot on my peg board of most often used tools...

Purchased this tool (2760 Oil Service Wrench) to work on my German Made Cars. Not because I needed it but because I discovered it and wanted it. :)

I bought a Hazet 2760 at an estate sale a couple of years ago. I didn't need it either, but .....

UPDATE: I used the wrench today to service the differential on my BMW (the 14mm hex end) as I was concerned about figment and space in a confined area but it was not an issue and it was really nice to have and use. I am very happy with my wrench :)

Spotted a Hazet assistent at an autojumble (flea market) this morning. First time I've seen one in the flesh. I definitely understand the appeal of these trolleys. Seller said it was from the 40s and was asking £250 for it.

Somebody more knowledgeable than me could perhaps verify that claim, but that example doesn’t look 70+ years old to me.

Current new price, for that exact model, is £670 from TBS in Germany, who are usually competitive. £250 probably isn’t far out, especially with a bit of negotiation!

Although it’s tatty, it doesn’t look bashed about, so probably a good restoration project.

I know one guy who works out of one of these. He does primarily machine maintenance, so all his regularly used tools like hex bits and spanners go in the trays, and lesser used stuff in the bottom. He wheels it to wherever he’s working and he has somewhere to put small parts too! If he works off site, he just collapses the thing down and puts in the back of his car!

^ I have no idea about the date or value. You are probably correct. It's what the seller said. He was selling random stuff so not a specialist. He also said he had two and sold the first one earlier in the morning. If he had said £150 I would have taken it home with me. Was happy just see one and have a play with it. :)

It’s a 162N so more around 40years old instead of from the 40’s 😋. You can buy this exact same modell still new. Oldest Assistents are from halfway the 50’s. Before 1965, Hazet was written with a small ‘a’ after that with capital ‘A’.

What’s the difference between the 162N and the 166N?

I must admit I thought it was the latter, but I’m not an expert on these!

No problem ☺️

166 is fully foldable, 162 not (pillars can’t be fold down). 162, 2 intermediate shelves and 161, 1 shelf (think those are not available anymore). N is the ‘new’ model with black kind of triangular knobs on the pillars. Before they where round in blue and black and curved.

Together with some friends we had a stand at a VW swap meet last Sunday. We had a very nice day and even sold a bit...

Looks great. Indoors too. Swap meets are cold and muddy here at the moment. :(

Thought you Hazet aficionados might want to see this. A 630 wrench in Whitworth size!

A friend asked me to collect some lathe accessories he’d bought, so I grabbed some tools for the job, this being one of them. Ironically, I’d just picked up a couple of used Blue Point wrenches in Whitworth, but they weren’t big enough for this task!

Not sure how old this is (Capital ‘A’ so post ‘65 I assume) but note no discernible wear! That’s why I tend to go for makes such as Hazet.

Although my bigger wrenches tend to be a bit ‘mix and match’ as regard makers, they’re all decent, and I don’t think I payed more than 3 or 4 British pounds for any of ‘em!

Got to be good value!

Rounded!

I’ve tried to show the edge in the picture below.

These are very comfortable wrenches actually. I don’t have a lot of deep offset wrenches, but I really like the feel of these.

Sometimes manufacturers make a tool that really feels ‘right’. I can’t always explain why, but people who work with hand tools understand. These wrenches are definitely in that category.

I only have a couple. Wish I had more.

Hi Bogdan

Yes it is but more a gadget like the bags and other things you can buy at the Hazet-fan site. I have such a phone and a radio, will make some pictures in the next days.

Hi,
How much is it worth? The seller wants 50 Euros.
I was thinking of displaying it in my shop on a wall.

Thanks!

Hard to tell, never saw one for sale besides the one I bought some years ago.
Is it worth 50€ to you? Should try less, saw the same phone once at a flea market without the Hazet-club tag so it’s not made by Hazet only promotional purpose imo.

I can see the rounded edge very well in your picture. I often wonder why the manufacturers don't do the same. Thanks for taking the time to post that picture. Very nice of you.

I think curved shaped beams concentrate the pressure applied by your hand along a smaller area (the outermost edge of the curve) a bit like a knife but obviously not so extreme. Square/flat beams do a better job of spreading the pressure applied over a larger area so should dig into your hand less and feel more comfortable under heavy use. More obvious on thinner beams than the wrench posted above.
