Cant see any reason why not. I cut my cords and spliced in extra wire to lengthen them in order to reach a central switched socket in my ceiling. Could have just as easily cut the plugs off and hardwired them in.

I'm planning to hardwire mine too...don't care if it's got a plug or not. I'll cut it off and hardwire.

I went back and noticed you spliced your line (I saw black electrical tape).

Thanks for the confirmation. Now I have several options for hookup if I could ever gets my hands on these lights.

How are you guys linking these together? Do they have female and male ends where i can make one long 20 footer without spacing in between if i wanted to ?

Thanks. Pics would be great of the ends and how they snap together if they do. Ty!

Yes these can be butted up to each other and chained. They use a small connector that presses into each light. Sorry don't have any pictures right now.

They come with two daisychain connectors: one '****' joint one that's a rigid ~1" connector that leaves a small gap between the two lights, and then one ~12" wire connector (for if you wanted to place them perpendicular or right next to each other and have a 'u' cable at one end). The lights don't snap together, so you have to be accurate in your mounting to not put too much stress on the sockets with the rigid **** connector.

Each light has an 'in' on one end and an 'out' on the other. The box states you can connect something like 8 together (I dont' remember the exact number).

Ditto to what the other guys said. Each light includes a small connector to directly daisy chain them. You would have a small gap of a fraction of an inch between each light. Up to 9 can be connected together, so you could have a 36 footer. There's also a daisy chain cord with each light that's approximately 1' long, but you could cut that and splice in extra wire if your configuration is better suited to daisy chaining rather than direct outlet plug-in.

I'm watching this thread to see if someone figures out how to get them for $25 again. I'd snap up a bunch more for my basement.

I know you say you can't find them for $25, but I'm typing this from my local store (Hyannis, MA #2612) and they have them for $25 each. Website and app both show $40,but in store is $25

Just an FYI for those glued to this thread/deal.

I was in western mass today and visited a home depot in pittsfield, ma. I saw the spot for these lights was empty but the price WAS in fact the $25 price. When i had a guy scan the sku for the light, he gave a chuckle and stated how sooo far back ordered they are for that light.

So for the guys who speculated about the price being so cheap for mass, i think you are right. There must be govt rebates/discounts/incentives in mass that arent available outside of the state. I know that the local power authority in western mass sets up at major events and sells 'kits' for residential consumers. It's a prebuilt package of led/cfl bulbs, nightlights etc for a rediculous price of something like $10. My girlfriend lives in western mass and she has bought the kit more than once. It's a heck of a deal.

Regardless, depending on where in mass you are, there may be plenty of these 4' led shoplights in stock or completely backordered for an undeterminded amount of time.
Fyi, if there had been some, i was in for a couple. Dang nabbit!

Just so everyone knows, I brought in a printed out copy of Malbojah's receipt to my local (Appleton, WI) HD today, and they price matched to it without an issue. I picked up 8 lights, some wire to string them together, and some hooks to hang them on.

If anyone needs a receipt to price match too that isn't from a state with subsidies or whatever, id be glad to post a copy of mine.

I am planning on hanging mine this weekend. I will get some before and after pictures for everyone!

Thanks again OP and Malbojah!

I have attached a copy of my receipt for all those interested in using to get their HD to price match. Might be better to print out both receipts to show that my home depot price matched the one in MA that Malbojeh posted.

I'll give it a shot at my NJ store, but in general, their canned answer is "we only match stores in our region."

If it does work, I'll be keeping my order for the online ones, and then probably returning them to the local store. Just kind of my way of thumbing my nose at HD for their crappy order fulfillment online. I know. I'm a rebel. Lol.

The issue i see here is, the LED is listed as 36w with a color of 4000K and a lumens output of 3200 but they "claim" it s equivalent to a dual 32w t8 shop light. the problem with that is the dual 32w shop light has a color of 4100k and a lumen output of 2800x2. The LED is way short on lumens, anyone do a real life comparison between the two?

Even the dual 40w t12 shop light has 2600 lumen x2 but at a greater wattage. I can see saving money on electricity if the LED is actually the same or close lumen output but at half, you'd need two LED lights to be comparable to the standard shop lights...

I was impressed with how bright it was in the store. The main reasons I decided on these lights were:
1. Cost - at $24.97 you cant beat it, plus the LED bulbs will last tens of thousands of hours (longer than I will ever own my house/garage), and the lights cost significantly less to run.
2. I can string (up to 9) lights together, and plugged them into my switched outlet (easier for me/any average homeowner who doesn't want to try and hardwire fluorescent fixtures)

With the cost and the ease of use, I purchased 8 fixtures that I will be stringing together. They will be replacing 3 fluorescent fixtures and a few incandescent bulbs. Obviously it will be brighter than my current setup, but ill still take some before and after pics when I get to it (this weekend hopefully).

You ROCK PatKnapp14 !!!

Your receipt is all I needed today to snag 2 at $25 when I went scouting Home Depot for any potential clearance items, no luck however on those.

But I got 2 LED lights no problem what-so-ever at customer service desk. I asked her for price match with another store (showed her copy of your receipt) . . . and WHAM done deal !! :rocker:

Out the door for $53 for 2 new 4 ft LED shop lights. Thanks again !!

I'm glad it worked for you! When I went in my local HD the guy running the lighting area kept giving me flack saying they wont price match to a receipt etc etc... it took 30 seconds at the pro desk for them to compare SKU's with Malbojah's receipt for me to get the price match... Glad its as easy for ya'll!

Thanks op and those who post their receipt. I got my hands on them. I really like them, they don't make a buzz when on, some light make a buzz when they are on which is annoying and the cfl takes a while to warm up. These led are awesome!

I don't think these are "tube" lights. I didn't open mine up, but I think under the defuser is a strip of LEDs.

I have been trying to get more. My two closest stores have them in stock but won't price match the internet sale. I came close today, a customer service worker and a manager looked long and hard and had a lengthy discussion out of my earshot. It came down to the $15 difference. It seems as though if the difference was only $10 they would have done it. I asked if they would let me get 6 at a $10 discount, but they said no to that, they couldn't call it a price match then.
