I recently purchased a Bend Pak HD-9 lift and find that my car won't fit on the lift properly. The wheel base is 144.5 inches and the runways are 164". When the front tire hits the stop, the rear tire is too far back for the ramp to block the rear tire from rolling backwards. Having this problem, I am trying to sell my HD9 to purchase the longer model.. the HD9XW. I have placed an ad in the classified section of the website, and have been contacted by a person offering $1500 for my lift. This person claims that he can purchase a HD9 shipped prepaid directly from the factory for $1800. I paid $2350 plus sales tax of approximately $120, and $100 to have the lift off loaded from the trailer and dropped at my home by the local lumber company. I have $2570 invested in this lift. I have asked this person where he got his price of $1800, because if I can get a replacement for less money, I am willing to let mine go for less money. He has declined to share this information with me. Does anyone know of any dealer that discounts the Bend Pak HD9 lift, and sells it for $1800? I have looked all over the Internet and called every dealer looking for the best price, but $2350 was the best that I could find at the time. Now, they seem to have gone up in price. I know that I will take a loss on this one, but I can't see selling it and taking almost a $800 hit. For that amount, I might as well just keep it and buy the longer one for the other side of the garage. What are your thoughts? Is this person BS'ing me or are there deals out there that I missed? Thanks Junk

I've also toyed with the idea of moving the front stops forward slightly so the center of the wheel is closer to the cross beam. I don't like altering safety items, but sometimes you have to come up with a workable solution.
