Hello everyone, I know its a Hein-Werner but that is all I know. 1 1/2 ton or 2 ton? The tag is missing from the lift arm so I don't know the model#. It will need to be rebuilt as fluid leaks out the bottom somewhere. Also, do these have a vent on them like other jacks do, to breathe? Appreciate any info. Thanks

They're a non-ventilated, sealed system. The reservoir (tank) being behind the piston, ported through the cap

You have a very early example as witnessed by the simple release knob, the jamb nut king pins on the rear casters and the lack of a cross bar handle near the release knob. Early examples will also have a cast iron "car" that carries the load saddle where the later examples are fabricated steel.

Elroy also notes the exposed plunger spring. :headscrat

It appears to Elroy as a 1-1/2 ton (3,000 pound) model WS which feature a "slot" in the main body at the plunger. If it is a WS, the between frame measurement will be 6-3/4".

The smaller OS series jacks (1-1/4 ton) measure 5-1/4 between frames and have a "notched" block at the plunger

You have a nice vintage piece worthy of a rebuild. Hiball can fix you up with a soft seal kit as a most reasonable price.

Elroy is correct. Earlier model H-W WS, 3000lbs. Probably early to mid 50's. The saddle looks like it might be later. Earlier were smaller diameter. Hard to judge by the picture. Anyway they are easily changed. Retained by a large "C" ring.

You guys are awesome! It measures 6 3/4" between frame, so a WS it is. Will need to order parts from Hiball. Thanks for all the info.
