Thanks for the review, sounds like this may be what we want to do in our new build.

Hey Scotty,

Can the Hellfire be tinted a bit darker than the light gray? And if so, what would one use to do it?

I'm looking at doing a garage floor about 1900 sq ft with a lighter gray interior. The floor will have to be darker.

Thanks.

How does the Hellfire coating hold up to having jack stands and heavy jacks being dragged across the floor?

We can supply additional tint that you can use to darken.

Pic shows standard (lower), tint added (upper).

HellFire is thin but powerful. A quality flake floor will have mils thickness on its side, which in the long-haul is a nice advantage.

Everything is relative to how you care for it and how well you prepared and installed the product.

My garage floor is saw-cut, not troweled - would I have any problems using a sealer like this, or any other epoxy type coating? My fear is that I seal in the cuts... not sure if I should even fear that or not.

Sawcuts can be left as is, pre-filled or post-filled.
The choice is yours.

If you have fears regarding pre-filling, then post-fill or leave-alone and you will not have any issue.

How much floor prep is needed for this coating? I have a 16 year old 500sq ft garage. It has some oil stains with about a dozen pops and a few cracks to fill in before coating.

Thanks,
John

Most of the users that we have had contact with have used the acid-etch method. Grinding is great but might eat up an extra coat due to porosity.

Repairs can be made using our Xtreme Set 100 product.

Sounds good, I'll be installing this spring.

It can withstand far greater heat but will likely still mar from splatter.

Weld high or use a blanket. I weld in my driveway, I have paranoia over the house burning down while I sleep from a slow burning ember.

Video link below...HellFire vs. Metallic Epoxy, 60 seconds with a Bic BBQ lighter approx 1/4” away, flame licking the surface. No effect on the HellFire!!

I'm a real estate appraiser by trade. And a while back I appraised a pretty nice waterfront home that actually had a couple of bedrooms done in this stuff. They had two different color ways even, like Rum and Whale (Metallic Epoxy Garage Kit) IIRC? I know this may sound kind of crazy, however, it actually looked great on the floors!

My question is this. I have a 1,200 sq. ft. workshop and my concern is how would this hold up to hot tires coming in and out? I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to installing some tire trays, or what have you if need be. Just as long as I can get a floor that looks like this stuff does whenever it is down!

Thanks!

Question:

Since my garage is a couple years old and already full of stuff, can you move everything to one side, prep and put the hellfire down, let dry, move everything to that side and do the other side, or will there be a noticeable difference or “line” between the two??

I’m stuck with either that or pulling everything away from walls and doing about 3’ away from walls all the way around, then putting everything back and doing the rest.

Also, I do t have any relief cuts (even though I should) to start/stop at.

Thanks

My garage floor is smooth and 7 years old, I did the water test and water puddles on the concrete so I'm guessing a sealer was put down at some point. Do I just acid etch over this or do I need to grind/sand the floor?
