No kidding, hehe. I took a half day today and went to the metal recycling place to pick up some stairs I saw on Saturday. Not the sweet pimp'n aluminum set on casters I'd been eyeing for weeks as they were $700. I got some steel ones that were 8 inches wider than I wanted but at $185 the price was right and I don't think I'll regret the extra footing down the road. These jokers weighed in at 433lbs at the metal place. My dad and I got them set in place within about two hours. I have since put three 3/8s bolts through the toe board and will add another five to the mix tomorrow (I ran out) so I'm not worried about it.

After pulling the dmc in behind the hearse, I ended up with a third of the space pictured.

At the moment, I'd just like it roadworthy in time for Christmas. I've never owned one before and wanted to find out if it is something I'd like driving or not. So far with this one, I've already put disc brakes up front and rebuilt the top end of the engine. Left to do before it can make a trip down the street are a fuel system, rear brakes and a booster of some kind. At the moment I just have one of those $65 Wilwood remote reservoir master cyclinders mounted in place of the OEM stuff. The vertical nature of the original booster/MC limits my options considerably on what I can do.

I've freed up enough room to start on the 57 Corvette project but to actually work on it requires the hearse and dmc to be outside and it is supposed to rain this evening and tomorrow. I'll put it off until Thursday but with next week off as well, I hope to be able to at least get it to where I can drive it in and out of the shop instead of push it.
