Hi everybody!

As the title explains: I am from Norway, so pardon my bad English typing (and autocorrect).

I have been reading the posts of the Garage Journal for many years (and i miss red dress girl). And I have actually been a member for many years, but hardly posted a thing. My "meant-to-be-garage" never happened because of many reasons, so I have only lurked in the shadows. Now my garage is pretty close to completion and I would like to join in again.

Something about me:

I am a 35 year old male, who lives with my girlfriend of 20 years and two daughters (6 and 3).
I live in a house that I built myself (mostly).
In a pretty rural area of Norway.
A proper garage has always been a dream, so after prioritizing work, girfriend, kids and everything else, it was finally time to realize that dream. And you guys are to blame for the outcome (and the cost). Of course i will make a thread of the garage and the projects inside when I get the time.

My interest in cars and tools is something I blame my father. He has worked as a mechanic, car dealer, carpenter, concrete worker, salesman, seaman, and everything inbetween. This lifestyle has taught me that if I can pay someone to do a job, I could also do it myself.
I have spent many hours of my childhood holding that "f*cking flashlight" right and its only in the later years I have realized how much that has influenced me.

My career started with a summerjob as a welder when I was about 15. Later I was a paperboy, automotive painter, factoryworker, insurance-salesman, tool-salesman and I now manage my own department of a Norwegian company of tools, hoses, welding, hms and whatever our clients need to their job.

I love cars, motorbikes, tools and garages. After I turned 30, I have also grown a facination for gardening. Besides that I try to be a good father and boyfriend, and a good worker.

I look forward to getting to know you guys better, and please comment if you have questions.

Hjertelig velkommen! I spent a summer in Brumunddal 30 years ago. I think that is somewhat close to Toten? Looking forward to some photos.

Welcome to The Forum from my little city across the bay from San Diego, California.

I too was a Flashlight Holder as a child. My Father built ships during WW2 then after the shipyard closed worked at whatever
job was available to feed the family. I think you will be a "Good Fit" in this Forum.

Best Wishes for success in realizing your Garage build dreams.

Thank you! Yes, Brummundal is about 45 minutes from my place. Just across lake Mjøsa. Brummundal is an area in bloom, where they have invested a lot of money in a very cool beach-park. Worth a visit if you should ever return!

You are welcome! Unfortunately there was a woman involved so I am not likely to return to Brumunddal. She wanted me to stay but it was not a realistic wish. I am quite certain she would not want to see me again! 😳
