Hello everyone- I am a committed car freak. I just found this terrific site while on my regular club site, 914World.com. I have an original '71 914-6 CA car which is undergoing a complete restoration at present. Hope to have it back by the end of the year.

Anyway, in August of 2013, my wife and I sold our home of almost 24 years and bought another a couple months later, about 2.5 miles from the last. I had just darn near finished that 3 car garage when my wife said, "I want to move".

Now I have a 3 car that is basically bare. My plan is by next Spring to take it to 4 cars so I have two double doors. I have already checked with the "authorities" and can add the 4th stall. When I do that I will take the ceiling up as high as I can go on that side as the other side is fixed by the existing architecture. I would like to go to about 12' so I can have some storage up high.

I plan to put a scissor lift in the floor so it is flush when down. I had a 4 post lift in my last garage but do not see the need for that in the new garage with the extra stall.

Anyway, I just wanted to say I am pleased to have found this site and look forward to developing my garage plan over the next 6 months or so.

Oh- My name is Michael, Cairo was my blue Abyssinian cat who thought he was a dog. Now I have two female miniature wiener doggies, sisters from the same litter :)

Michael: you'll get lots of ideas to finish that new garage and you came to the right place. also post lots of pictures and ask lots of questions if you want to learn and get help.

any pictures of the Porsche (I think that is what a 914 is?) to post here to add some color and of course post pictures of your pets. i just changed my avitar because my little kitty in the picture passed on this week after using up her 9 lives. you can make your car or pet or anything your avitar if you want a picture under your new handle for garage journal and change as often as you like. some guys leave there's the same for years and honestly might be a good idea because even if you forget their name you might remember their avitar to do a search for one of their posts.

good luck and welcome
