Hello everyone- I am a committed car freak. I just found this terrific site while on my regular club site, 914World.com. I have an original '71 914-6 CA car which is undergoing a complete restoration at present. Hope to have it back by the end of the year.
Anyway, in August of 2013, my wife and I sold our home of almost 24 years and bought another a couple months later, about 2.5 miles from the last. I had just darn near finished that 3 car garage when my wife said, "I want to move".
Now I have a 3 car that is basically bare. My plan is by next Spring to take it to 4 cars so I have two double doors. I have already checked with the "authorities" and can add the 4th stall. When I do that I will take the ceiling up as high as I can go on that side as the other side is fixed by the existing architecture. I would like to go to about 12' so I can have some storage up high.
I plan to put a scissor lift in the floor so it is flush when down. I had a 4 post lift in my last garage but do not see the need for that in the new garage with the extra stall.
Anyway, I just wanted to say I am pleased to have found this site and look forward to developing my garage plan over the next 6 months or so.
Oh- My name is Michael, Cairo was my blue Abyssinian cat who thought he was a dog. Now I have two female miniature wiener doggies, sisters from the same litter
