New guy here, friend asked if I was a member, I didn't even know it existed.
Nothing fancy here, own a Victorian home built in 1900 near the Electric City and have been doing a lot of renovations and repairs.
I'm over 40, love my 2001 Audi B5 A4 1.8T (ended up being more of a project car) and have been driving the "Mule", a 2003 Chevy Venture.
Garage has changed over the years. Had a fire in March 2013 which basically gutted it and caused me to clean it out completely.
I've been doing a lot of interior renovations on it and this year started on the foundation repairs (hooboy).
Here's where I was with the repairs as of this morning (the washing out and cleaning up part after digging it all up yesterday).

If anyone knows the code to resize these on the forum, it'd be much appreciated.
I'm not resizing my personally hosted pics as I use them as a backup of the originals on my NAS.

I use Pixlr it's a freebee (http://apps.pixlr.com/editor/) Upload then hit image size and then you can upload into an album on Garage Journal.

I stopped using picture hosts after the last five died or got bought out.
I own my own web space now.
I would prefer to not have to manually separate and resize my pics.
Unfortunately, looks like I might need to make a copy, resize them, and put them in a separate folder on my webspace.

What are you trying to achieve with the foundation? I'm in the masonry restoration business. Are you looking to replace the eroded Stone? Is that cinder block in there? What is the ditch for? . This is very interesting to me. Could you explain more what's going on in that picture?

The cinder block has been eroded away from vine roots that broke it all apart.
I started digging to see if I could just patch it, then more fell apart, and I dug more, and then I dug some more. Hit clay and an original footing of some sort, so have been filling and leveling.
I washed the foundation down good and hard, which leaves me with a lot of missing cinder block foundation. I sucked all the water out yesterday afternoon and started packing and leveling where I want to start the footing and then last night, it rained and put a lot more water back in the ditch.
The plan is to pour a footing and lay block, fill the big gaps with concrete as I go, and then move the garage over onto the repaired foundation.

Maybe you should ditch what you have and build from scratch. Sometimes its way ahead starting over.
I can recommend a great mason in your area if you need.

Well, for the most part, I'll be doing most of it from scratch.
Cost is the issue, so a mason or even concrete delivery may cost too much all at once.
I'll start a "My Garage" thread in the appropriate place with lots of pictures.

I do like those old stone face cmu's for appearance. So you have already removed the frame structure and just have the foundation left? How big a footprint are you talking?

Garage is all built.
Foundation is dying.
Looking to rebuild the foundation, pick up the garage, and set it in it's new place.
