My Google searches keep pointing me back to this place so apparently I have something in common with a lot of you folks.:lol:

A little about myself;

I've got an older 30 x 30 shop that I tinker in. I'm a mechanic by trade and grew up in a wood shop so I do a little both.

Probably my favorite type of woodworking is segmented turning. If you're not familiar with segmented turning, it's basically gluing a bunch of pieces of wood together and turning it on a lathe. Here is (i think) one of the nicer pieces I did a few years back to give you an idea.

My current (ongoing) project is an 85 Corvette (The Dam Vette) :D. As a mechanic I have always had a love/hate relationship with Corvettes. This one kind of fell into our laps and has become part of the family. Currently it's on jack stands with the rack and pinion apart on the bench waiting for a seal kit to show up.

I'm looking to get a lift in the future and probably expand the shop a little bit. (I'll hassle you guys later with some questions I have on those two subjects.)

Anyways, figured I would say hello since I've been using so much of your information.:thumbup:

Mark: great first post. we are happy to hear you finally joined so now you can post questions if you have any on many of the great threads we have.

I see and hear a lot of the members have these Max Jax lifts so you might check out a few of the threads and the YouTube video.

it looks like you know how to post pictures and i remember turning glued wood on a lathe in wood shop 40 years ago. of course my little bowl that i actually still own doesn't look nearly as nice.

welcome and enjoy the reading
