Can you help me find a manufacturer for swivel casters to match those on my Williams rolling tool cabinet. I need to replace the stationary casters with swivel casters and would prefer to replace only two instead of four all the way around. Can you help me match the existing swivel casters from a third party maker? It looks like the current Williams casters don't match. Details are as follows:
I think I got a pretty good deal on a used Williams top and bottom chest for $300 for Bottom and $200 for top. It came from an industrial mill with a massive tool haul of used tools (including some big Snap-on wrenches).
Both top and bottom are pretty clean outside and very clean inside the drawers. However the room where I store my tools is so small that I cannot maneuver the box unless I have swivel casters all the way around. (Like most boxes it came with two straight and two swivel casters.)
The bottom box model number is C40-7RC which is not in the catalog, but it seems to be dimensionally identical to the updated W40RC7 in the recent catalog. The catalog lists a part number for the casters but photos look like cheap pressed parts compared to the casters I have (see photos).
The casters are welded and the parts seem to have been stamped from approximately 3/16 inch thick plate. The casters screw into captive nuts on the bottom corners. The bottom plate measure 4" x 4 1/2" and the bolt pattern is probably a square 2 3/4" by 3 1/4" (although I measured to the nearest 16 and its a little different)
