Help identifying an IR T30 Compressor

Morning all. Over the holiday weekend, I picked up an IR Type 30 Compressor for the garage. I am struggling to identify it and IR's website is no help. It is a 5HP, 80 Gal with a 242-5D Pump head on it. It also came with a spare pump head but it is a 242-5C and has three intercooler lines vs one on the 242-5D. My questions are:

1. Where do I find the tech specs on this so I know what kind of air it is putting out, etc.
2. Where would I find the wiring diagrams?
3. How can I tell how old it is?

Thanks all!

Good luck on identifing it. Either way you should be able to get parts for it and you have possibly two good compressors.

That is not encouraging.. lol. I am having trouble searching since "T30" is too few characters... I am sure I saw a couple guys on here before who knew enough about them to identify them.

Thanks justsam. I had come to that conclusion as well, just wondering what the output specs are (such as what cfm @ what pressure, etc). Would also be nice to know the difference in the two heads I have... the intercooler loops are different is all I can see. I would have expected IR to have much better documentation on these things but apparently not. I have seen some people saying max 150 psi, some say 175psi. I will keep looking as well. I tried to find the "call IR techline" but it appears to be gone.

The 242 is a 5HP compressor that is now obsolete. It was a great pump.

The 5D meant that the pump was mounted on an 80-gallon horizontal tank. I don't know about the "C" designation, it might mean that it was a climate control unit.

If you have the serial number of the unit then I might be able to look up the build date for you.

Hey Stonesfan68, thanks for the input. Here are the serial numbers: 30T 521052 and 30T 608355.

I can't even find a generic spec sheet for the 242 that states what the cfm delivery is or even the max pressure (I have heard 150psi and 175psi)

They will go 175 all day long. As previously stated they are Great pumps but are obsolete meaning you cannot purchase so much as a valve kit for it from IR these days. Judging by the sound of one of these pumps running I wouldn't expect too much cfm out of them they sound like a hit and miss oil engine compared to a modern type 30 Lol!
