After watching ebay for months and seeing used, marked, and missing bits ones go for 36-50$, I decided to stop waiting and bought a SSDMR4B via Chadster.

My only justification for a $60 screwdriver is that I already bought a $40 plomb keychain screwdriver once - so this one is 4x the usability + magnet, right? :shocking:

Well you got 5 awesome bits to go along with your screwdriver! So that takes off a lil chunk of your price lol. Once you buy it, you forget about what you paid for it...and ENJOY it! I have the soft grip ratcheting screwdriver and the price sure stung, but I got past it once I used it! I love it and won't be without one from now on.

Here are some pics. Your actual screwdriver will ship directly from the Snap-on distribution center in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Thanks for your order!

I cannot wait to use it. I think it will be in my work bag so it will see a ton of use in house, work, and out and about (work bag is part of daily carry)

Are you a member of Congress?

Nice looking screwdriver

A congressional screwdriver would be gold plated and require a crew of 30 men around the clock to maintain it. It's initial cost would be $200,000 and would require a yearly budget of $1.2 million dollars.

That exact screwdriver was my first Snap On purchase about a year ago and I have absolutely loved it. It is the best screwdriver ever! I just ordered the long and short version to match it and they will be delivered tomorrow and I can't wait. :)

OK, what do you do? I have several and almost never use them.

And it would have only one bit - the one that fits the Taxpayer.

$60? Jebus. A friend wanted to give me one a few months back and I turned it down... Wonder if he still has it.

Two of mine have that same funky gap between the selector and the handle. It bothers the hell out of me for some reason. They didnt come like that, and there isn't anything I can do to adjust or press it back. Its like the plastic shrunk?! I took it apart and checked over it to see if I could fix it.....nope

A $200 screwdriver deserves a decent picture....how about a picture of the whole driver?

Here is another one... These are older pics of it... It is on "my favorite things" shelf... (Maybe an idea for a thread)... Here is a closeup...

It took me years to find this screwdriver....

I think I may have willed it to Krusty when I was drinking, but I can't remember for certain.... :headscrat

First thought, "$60 for a screwdriver?!"

Second thought after seeing it, "That's a NICE looking screwdriver!"

The CEO of the company I work for was a higher up engineer at Snap-On for like 28 years or something like that. Anyway one day he was helping me work on some electrical stuff and commented how he wish we had good tools there. To be more specific he wanted his trusty ratcheting screwdriver. I started to give him a hard time about it since I have NEVER seen a ratcheting screwdriver worth a damn. He simply replied, "Have you ever used a Snap-On one?" and of course the answer was no. The next day he came in and gave me one and said "If you USE this and don't like it give it back, if you like it keep it". And that is the story of my first Snap-On tool :) To be fair though I still haven't gotten a chance to use it, but the quality of it was immediately apparent. I grabbed a POS ratcheting screwdriver that was laying around and gave it a twist in the hand, in the normal range of motion for turning a screw it would click once, MAYBE twice tops. The Snap-On ratcheted like it should nice and smooth I was defiantly impressed.

That is a fantastic screwdriver and you got a great deal! Think of it this way I meet strangers in bad parts of town and I pray that I make it out with my scalp intact. On the other hand you get these great deals all in the comfort of your home! I am jealous...

Here is another reason to feel good about your purchase. Your purchase helped to pay for the replacement Secret Santa gift that I sent out today.

Honest question, but what is the big draw with this style screwdriver? Specifically the removable bit portion. I can understand the ratcheting, but I don't understand the removable bits???

when you but it new, it comes with 5 bits, so instead of paying/keeping for 5 screwdrivers, you just got all 5 in 1.
