Help me wire my heater

I just hung an old Modine header from my ceiling. I can plumb the gas, no problem. But I've never wired one before, I could use some advice to make sure I get it right. I'll explain what I have, then maybe someone can guide me as to what gets connected to what.

So on the back of the unit, there is a small junction box where the connections are made. I have 2 black wires coming directly from the fan. I have a black and a white wire coming from the regulator. Then, I have 3 black wires that go from the junction box and directly into the back of the heater somewhere.

So what I need to know is, where does my 110 house voltage get hooked up? And where will the thermostat hook up? Also, I'd like it wired so I can run just the fan manually without heat, so what special provisions will I need to make that happen?

FYI, Modine doesn't have a manual for this machine on their site. I contacted Modine directly, and they also didn't have a manual available.

As it turns out, the reason I was having so much trouble figuring this out is because the thermostat for this heater is 110 volts, and I've never seen that before. It looks to me like the thermostat on this thing is just a switch carrying line voltage. When the temp flips it, it turns on the gas which ignites off the pilot. Then once it warms up, a sensor inside the unit turns the fan on. The voltage going to the thermostat isn't stepped to 24v or whatever, like most other furnaces I've seen.

I'm not sure I like this system. It may be time to shop for a new heater.

I agree, without a better control system, you are lacking safety for a number of failures, such as high temp, etc. That is why most modern heaters have a controller board.
