Installing a data connection between buildings.
If it were me I wouldn't even consider a flexible conduit for sleeving an an underground cable of any type, above or below grade.
If your going through the effort of digging a trench, do yourself a favor. Do it properly and do it once. Life is too short for half *** redo's.
PVC conduit is the method of choice, it's easy, cheap, durable, and 100% watertight when done properly. It will last longer than you when placed below the frost line in your area.
For those pesky string trimmers and grass munchers, Schedule 80 PVC is extra heavy wall thickness and required where exposed to physical damage, as compared to the SCH 40 standard thickness pipe. Both types share common OD and fittings. Factory made bends and fittings are readily available, custom bends can be made with an oven, heat blanket, heat gun or torch when applied sparingly. It's non rusting and never requires painting. Be sure to use the gray electrical grade, approved for UV exposure. NOT white PVC intended for plumbing, it's not the same, and not listed for wiring use.
Couple pointers about data cable. Moisture inside of a data cable assembly can reak havoc on the data signals propagation and legibility, reliability. One tiny pinhole anywhere in the jacket of your cable, caused by an installation nick during the install is enough to let in groundwater and cause problems down the road. Quality direct burial data cables are gell filled (expensive) just for the purpose of excluding moisture and water, also a pain to terminate (messy).
A quality PVC conduit installation, water-tite, and the ends plugged with duct seal after the wire is pulled, will exclude the ground water and as importantly, the condensation that occurs inside the pipe from air traveling through. Due to the different atmospheric pressures at each end of the pipe. If the cable ever does go bad, or you want to upgrade to the faster stuff (GB or Fiber) in the future, no problem, remove the duct seal and pull in what ever the future brings, the digging and raceway placement is already done. With this method you really don't even need the underground rated cable, standard cable will work just fine as long as it stay's dry.
One last suggestion, to get around the digging and conduit installation, GO WIRELESS, with the proper gear. It's faster, cheaper, just as reliable as a cable. Just has a different learning curve. It can serve an area larger than just your outbuilding, say deck, patio, yard. Oh and can reach way further than the 325' that Ethernet is approved for. The connection I'm using now is from a half a mile away from me, works 24/7 with great throughput, cost $200 in equipment, and has been rock steady for the last 3 years, rain, sleet, snow ,ice, sun. You can't beat it with a shovel and a spool of cable...
2 of these would probably do you good, along with a little learning curve.
