If you go used see if you can clamp a piece of aluminum trim and push on it every foot or so. The older brakes had no adjustment in the pivots and once you cant clamp properly the frustration begins. When you try to do a hem is when the material wants to slip into the brake. C,heck out the videos on tapcotools.com. Also look for damage to the hinge from guys using a knife to score the material and gouging into the hinge. Ask them how they do a hem or safety fold. If they show you or tell you they crush it they are putting unnecessary stress on the brake. Once you see the videos you'll see how its done.
