I bought a Craftsman ratchet. The new 3/8" pearhead USA made 44808.
I took it apart and cleaned it up. It was real dirty.
Anyway I was putting it back together and the selector retaining ball went......ping....... gone! Yup I lost it for good.
Does anyone know the diameter of that little ball so I can get a replacement from somewhere??
Thanks, John

I would go to Sears ,p.u. a rebuild kit for a quick fix or call a bike shop for a 3.5 m.m.as a previous poster stated.Or I have two left hands,I would get two 3.5 at the bike shop,if you know what I mean.

Next time take it apart or put it together inside a big zip lock bag, I may have an extra ball you can have .

I has happened to me too many times the springs as well try finding a paw spring for a 1/4 dual80 in carpet I've usually been lucky and alway find them. Just lost the alignment pin into oblivion for my MG725 air impact in my living room and still no luck finding it so made one out of a drill bit just cut to fit.

I had the same thing happen with a 43785 and the ball was a 1/8", a standard hardware store item. Was 17 cents. They're over in the drawers with the nuts and bolts...

Thanks for that info. I have since found the ball bearing, but I will be buying a couple of them for the next such episode.
