Help with an old Campbell Hausfield air compressor

Have an old 26 gal (I think) that I have had for about 25 years. It as an oil free compressor motor. It is still running strong except for a small hose issue.

The pipe/hose that goes from the compressor exhaust into the tank will not stay in place. I can't remember if I have replaced a factory flex hose at some point, or if it was always a piece of 1/2" copper tubing.

The connections to the head and the tank are Similar to union type fittings, but they have small rubber gaskets that are similar in size to what the union ferrule pieces would look like.

When I tighten the nut all the way down, there is still no solid seal with the rubber gasket piece and the pipe piece is forced out by air pressure.

How can I fix this? Can a regular union nut be used or do I need to buy a specific high pressure hose of some sort?

I had great success replacing the copper tubing and fittings with ordinary copper tubing and brass compression fittings.

I am thinking that is what I need. Do I just get the nut and ferrule piece?

I have an old C-H 30 gallon 240V horizontal portable tank. I have a Saylor-Beall 705 so the C-H sits idle these days. I bought it from the original owner and I suspect w/o hunting on the tank for a date, it's probably > 30 years old. I had to install a new pressure switch and a paper head gasket awhile ago, but it still works fine. It's a 2-piston w/oil.

I think it worked. Used the regular brass compression sleeves and tightened it down. Holding for now.
