I think I saw it going to be $399
Is this a good deal?

I think the casters already installed and the box looks huge.
so didn’t think it’s going to fit in a car?

it will fit in a ford freestar (minivan) because I've seen me put the 56" box in the back of that.

Yes, $399 is a great price for the box. Best price I have seen before is $429 coupon.

Can get for around 409 now if you don't want to wait.

Look for the 15 percent off thread

I could be wrong but believe only the original ones went that low as that was the price when the Gen 2's were introduced.

Nah, every thanksgiving, black friday etc. Thats when I bought my original one for 349.

Anyways good luck to those getting the new one!

They jacked the price up when they came out with the deeper series 2. 399 is the cheapest its been since they introduced this new deeper, series 2.

Pureleaf we need a receipt or time frame you bought it. cause the lowest the 44s ahve been with a coupon is $389 for the Gen2s.

Sorry, I was referring to series 1 for 349, not series 2. I misread the original post I responded to.

I bought with the $429 coupon last month. Not worth the battle to save an additional $40, plus they may not even have any left. That store is a **** show during normal days, I can't imagine BF.

The Harbor freight Black Friday sale will be Friday through Saturday, three days. If you want something from the ad you don't have to go on Friday. This cabinet is the only thing I noticed that was a good price over the everyday prices.

Any problem paying first and pick up another day?
I don’t really want to rent a trailer on Friday.

I do not know answer to that but if you can more easily rent a trailer today or tomorrow, you can use the 15% off coupon on their homepage and get the 44" for $407 plus tax vs $400 for BF.

I've fit one new in the box in the back of a ford focus wagon before. Granted the Series 2 is slightly deeper but the S1 fit no problem.

I would suggest this too.

Can anyone with the series 2 lower measure the caster bolt pattern?

I have a stepped wall in my garage I need to lower mine by about 3/4 inch to fit under and my box is on order. Would like to order casters before it gets here.

Thanks.

So are they doing rain checks?

It sure would be nice to buy online and have the option to ship to a store.

Cablebandit - I bought 3 of these the other day (during the 15% off coupon deal - didn't want to deal with black friday). They didn't have any in the store - they put the order into their warehouse and when they get delivered to the store they'll give me a call. I should have them by mid-late next week I was told. Not sure about buy online - pick up in-store.

Picked up two 44 series 2 this morning. Got them home one at a time, and after unpacking and checking for any damage, and that all the drawers functioned properly I was a happy camper. Now to cut up the boxes for the dump.

As a reminder to folks, I would ask to check the boxes before you leave HF. Got home today and took box off while still on trailer and damage in multiple areas and paint falling off around seams. It went right back. I have not had great luck on the series 2 quality. The first gen 2 mechanics cart I got was so bowed on sides the plastic latches didn’t even touch the sides. The second one just had a bent drawer side.

I got mine during the 15% off and had the HF clerk take the wooden pallet off the bottom. Without the pallet it fit in my Grand Cherokee. I was worried because one of the corners of the box was torn and crushed, but that's where the foam padding is so the toolbox was perfect.

Just came back from buying a Black 1 and they didn't have any in stock, paid for it and they will call me when it gets to the store

I went in yesterday to buy a blue one and they only had one black one in stock. So, I said I would take that after they inspected it for damage. It was apparently badly damaged, so I ordered a blue on at the $399.99 price. I had a $50 Visa card that was a rebate from tires I had bought back in October, so technically I still snagged it for $349. Technically.

Now I just need to play the waiting game on when it will arrive at the store for pick-up.

As a bonus, I'm pretty sure the cashier was coming down hard during the entire transaction.

So I go to my local store this morning to get a blue 44". I run into the junior manager/ head cashier (forget what they're called). Ask if they have any left, he says no. I ask if he can order one, he says no they don't do that. I ask if I can get a raincheck, he says no. I ask are you sure you can't order one? I tell him I've been reading online where people go in and HF orders them for you. He says let me go ask my manager. Comes back 5 minutes later with manager and the manager is like yeah no problem we can order it for you. So , it ended up only costing me under $27 out the door because I have $401 in settlement gift cards. Should be delivered to the store on 12/4.

Just ordered the blue one. They say it will be in on 12/8. I just wish you could order online and pickup when it comes in. Driving 100 miles round trip twice is a bummer.

At least it's a scenic drive.

Now I just hope they start carrying the accessories (paper towel holder, glove dispenser, etc) in something other than red.

I was going to buy some wrench racks when it occurred to me that I could very easily make ones from some 2X4 scraps I had around.

I was cutting the notches straight when I realized, hey, I'm using a miter saw, so I started cutting the notches at 20° for the last one.

This is the top drawer where I'm keeping the SAE wrenches.
