I bought two. One has switch problems (?). It goes out frequently and randomly. Comes back on with the switch only to turn off at the most inconvenient time. I need to hurry up and replace it. It's annoying.
Darn, I wish I lived closer but I won't make it there again before that sale ends. It's on sale through 7/31

....every guy with a flea market table and half a brain is buying them up at $19 and reselling them for $35-$40....
($30 underhood light)I’ve been pondering one of these. How do you like it?
This is awesome. Dropped mine on the concrete first night I had it, not a scratch, works great to this day.....10 gals of hydraulic fluid in a tub....
...My Braun fell, of course, into the fluid. ..
I forgot it under there and drove the 5 Miles ..... it was still attached
I doubt it will ever rust.
Add me to the light vs concrete crew, with a still-working light.both of mine are working fine, and they have been dropped on the concrete and showered with welding and grinder sparks, no issues.
it seems like the OEM has been selling some very close variations under different brandsHarbor Freight has been harbor freighted:

Just an FYI, while the thread is always helpful, if you sign up for them by email you probably would have had that and others as you go to visit already. Don't forget to research your freebies.
I never really had the need to buy a second or third one after I got the spare batteries and charger, seeing as you can just take the light anywhere you need it. I had thought about buying a second one though before I got the charger and stuff but once I got it the added benefit was that I had another cheap chinese LED flashlight from Anker, which is big on Amazon and they used a cartridge that uses 3 AAA batteries but the batteries kept dying so it just worked out that the battery cells that came with that charger also worked on it. I ended up having a spare battery on the charger and I can always swap between one device or the other.
I got a second and third slim light because I use them for more than just working on cars/trucks/equipment. I also use them for lighting photography and video so having more than one at the same time is very handy.

....The only complaint is the switch seems to be a little fragile. No trouble with any of my lights yet...
If you haven't had any trouble, why do you say that the switch seems fragile? Mine was erratic and finally failed.
Because I haven't had any trouble. The switch has worked every time, it has never failed. However, it seems fragile.... meaning the push button itself feels a bit lose like maybe it could fall off eventually, but it hasn't.
The switch on mine went bad also. At first I thought that it meant that the battery was getting low, but now it doesn't work at all. I have had it for a few months, but haven't used it that much.
How long was the warranty? Are there any easy fixes?

Maybe try what I did a few months ago?: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7211877&postcount=365
My light with taped over button has still been working fine since then.![]()
Thanks for the reply. Strangely enough, mine also works by pressing at 4 o'clock, but without any side pressure. For now, it is consistent.
I also would be interested in finding out if anyone has a more permanent fix.
After about 6 months, my light has developed an issue with the switch. I went to use it and it would not turn on. I figured out by rotating the little switch button ever so slightly and trying to turn the light on that eventually I get to a spot where it will work. Once I found this spot I also figured out that if I place pressure on the left side of the button while pressing it on the lower right side(4 o'clock position) I can get the light to turn on pretty much every time - I taped over the button to hold it in this specific position. I assume the button has a membrane underneath it and it has shifted, worn, or something. Once I get another light, I might try to take this one apart to make a more permanent fix. I suggest anyone with a non-working light give my method a try. It's annoying as **** to get it to work, but if you do, you at least have a somewhat usable light again.
Has anyone disassembled one of these yet?
