It would be interesting to know when all was said and done how many actually get brought back for the recall. I suspect almost no one who bought one will ever hear about the recall and it will probably be in the low single digit percentages of those sold. I'd be reeeeaally surprised if it was anywhere near 50,000 of the more than 1 million.

Replacement units will be available starting May 21.
I have one of those. I bought it to cut up a pile of tree limbs I have in my back yard. I haven't even used it yet. It's no fun taking a brand new item in for a recall; you're supposed to take an old beat up one in and get a brand new one, lol.

Cut up the pile of limbs then take it back.

I think cutting up limbs is the reason for the recall.![]()
Ive seen a few of the angle grinders do that.It won't stop running? That is the opposite of their usual problem.

A basic emergency room visit in my area is probably at least $4,000 now.
That said,
The sawstop is one of the major choices for people who can afford a Sawstop.
Also, just because you buy a tool from a high end manufacturer, it doesn’t mean you’re going to get a tool free of safety issues or other problems.
