Anybody else's local store not have these on sale? I've had the 1/2 scanned 3 different times now and it lists as $99.

I bought a 1/2" today for $55.99. $69.99 (clearance price) + 20% off. Weird how they do their pricing.

On a side note the assistant manager told me the new 1/2" will retail @ $170

I picked up a set of 3/8" and a 1/2" Earthquake impact wrenches. With a 20% coupon on each less that $100 out the door (had to make two trips). Very happy with these purchases.

I wouldn't mind picking up a 3/8" Earthquake air ratchet and maybe even a 1/4", but they aren't discounted as well and they're still just a little high for their value to me. Has anyone seen the ratchets more heavily discounted? If anyone does a shout out would be appreciated.

I am still trying to find a local store with 1/4 ratchet in stock so I can buy it, 7 were showing last week in the warehouse and I did a special order/request for one, but no word yet, going in tomorrow and price was coming up before coupon I think $39.

Interesting find on the HF website today via google. You can't find them on the HF site unless you search by number. I have no inside info or confirmation, but these are likely the new Earthquakes - manual and pricing (but no pic except for the B&W in the manual) at the following links:

http://www.harborfreight.com/38-professional-impact-wrench-68425.html
http://www.harborfreight.com/12-professional-impact-wrench-68424.html
http://www.harborfreight.com/34-impact-wrench-68423.html
http://www.harborfreight.com/1-professional-impact-wrench-with-6-anvil-68429.html

http://www.harborfreight.com/12-professional-impacting-air-ratchet-wrench-68427.html

The 3/8 and 1/2 ratchets are impacting, so you may want to hold off on getting the old ones, even on clearance...

Well the guy at the store was wrong then! $99 for the 1/2", minus 20%, so $80 before any sales. I'm game.

It looks like now they are quieter too. The current earthquake air ratchets are Screamers.

oh snap, impacting air ratchets? that would be pretty sweet.. I was just talking about how that would be a nice thing to have

Yeah, I agree. If the new ratchets are impact ratchets then I'll probably wait till those hit the shelves. I might pick up the current discontinued 1/4" air ratchet since to me a 1/4" impact ratchet doesn't make a lot of sense, but on the other hand a regular 1/4" air ratchet is pretty handy for running lots of fasteners down quickly in a confined space.

They must have gone on clearance sale here between Monday and today. They're sold out of 1/2 now.

HF main operation is about 80 miles away in camarillo and in the LA area we have a lot of stores.

The Lancaster store still has at least eight 1/2 impacts on the shelf and still has the 1 in impact and 1/4 inch ratchets, I think they are out of 3/8 impacts now..

I called my local store in North Richland Hills, TX to check stock on the 1/2" impact. The lady on the phone said that they are in stock, but said that the price is $89.99. I'm assuming she looked it up in the computer since I gave her the product number.

Still debating whether I feel like making the drive down there to see if they ring up differently.

Doubtful they will, if that is the old stock item. I did the same and they told me $69.99. With 20% = $55.92 + tax.

I got the Earthquake 3/4" drive gun back around Easter. $239 marked down to about $195 for the holiday. I work on cars/light trucks. Mt reasoning was that just maybe, a cheap 3/4" drive gun would be stronger than the best 1/2" gun, at a fraction of the price. My Earthquake gun is short, too, for a 3/4" drive gun, about 1" longer than my "go to" CP7750, CP's strongest 1/2" gun.

Recently, I was tackling the brake caliper adapter-to-knuckle bolts on a 3/4 ton P-U. They're always Loctited & you usually gotta use some sort of swivel with the gun to get on 'em. My good ole CP7750, I'm sorry to say, could do NOTHING with these bolts. The Earthquake removed them without even the normal hesitation an impact at first exhibits with extremely stubborn fasteners.

I wish I'd gotten the 3/4 when I had the chance. I have no idea what I'd use it for, but that sucker is huge.

I just picked up the 3/4" drive EQ at the Mansfield, Ohio for $160 ($200 clearance + 20% off coupon). There were 3 more on the shelf when I left a couple hours ago, and a few 1/2" drives, too.

I'm looking forward to busting some stuff loose with this monster.

Do you thnk it actually puts out 1,400 ft-lbs?

My 1/2 IR 2135QTMAX struggle quite a bit just to loosen crankshaft bolt. I have to crank the pressure up to 125 psi, let the crank bolt soak in WD-40 for a while, and constantly impact it until it come loose. A 3/4 would be nice for this job. Still debating whether to get one since I won't be using it alot. I don't own a truck.

Well, yeah, that would be a toss up. I bought a 1/2" 50' air hose @ HF for $25 (our shop hose are all 3/8"), & some 3/8" "basic size" fittings just for the EQ to give it max CFM's. There are also "high flow" air fittings, but I couldn't figure out which ones to order. Maybe some day. I like to have tools that even though you don't use them that much, they save the day when you do.

I had a little problem at HF today and I posted this on their facebook site. I guess ill wait and see what happens. If they dont respond i'll go to the distric manager next.

"Hey Harbor Freight why wont one of your store managers let me use a 20% of coupon on a 1/2 drive Earthquake impact that's on clearance ? I've bought a 1/4 inch ratchet from another store and used it.I bought a 3/8 ratchet online and used a 20% off code. and I bought a 3/8 impact from the store in question with a 20% of coupon the day before no problem but the 1/2 inch doesn't come up on clearance in t...he computer but it has a clearance tag on shelf. So the assistant manager says it's a blowout item and no 20% allowed. I asked to talk to the store manager about it (Who was there in the store) but he would not come out and talk to me. pretty bad customer service i would say and denying a discount which according to written information is not against company policy "

It's clearly not a blowout item, or it would be listed as such. It was listed as a clearance item. I just read the fine print on a couple 20% off coupons, and clearance items are not mentioned in the exclusions.

I wouldn't screw around with a district manager - I'd call customer service when they open Monday morning. I've had nothing but great experiences with HF CS.

Unless you're working on some really big vehicles (tractors, Semi's etc.) it's hard to imagine anything that you'd need the 1" on.

I would use it on our farm we have grain trucks and tractors. I would like to get the 1 inch but its use would be limited. Probably use the 3/4" more especially if its more compact than the one inch model. I could get both lol. But the store is about an hour away though.

I wonder if the 3/4 earthquake is much more powerful than my 1100-k air cat to make it worth while getting it.

I would think the 3/4" gun would be quite a bit more powerful. Specs are specs, they are made up numbers anyway. Everything being equal, and knowing what the 1/2" Earthquake does, I would put money on it that the 3/4" would smoke any 1/2" gun any day of the week and twice on Tuesday.

Well I picked u pa 3/4" earthquake plus 4 sets of their impact sockets with a coupon good for 20% off on a whole purchase of over $100.00. I used on the impact wrench and 4 sets of sockets plus a few other things. The wrench was at a $139.99 sale so 20% off of that too

Has anyone else seen any other stores that are selling the 3/4" EQ impact for $140?

I was back in the store today and saw the new clearance price is $139. I happened to have my receipt from last Friday, and they gave me my $50+/- back!

They have a couple 1/2" drives marked down to $52.

1/2 was marked down also. Both 3/8 abd 1/2 impacts were
39.02 and 42.14after 20% discount. Tough to beat.

i got the 3/4" around appleton, wi

So give that bad boy a spin on something and tell us how good it is. ;)

I think with the 1" if you need it, you need it, but its freaking huge, most things you won't have clearance on unless they were made with the big gun in mind.

Not taking the 20% coupon, would not have gone well with me. Wasting my time is one of the things I have a sort fuse about, pretty sure I could have gotten the manager out to sort it out. You could always buy some regular priced cheap item along with the impact then hand them the coupon, register will automatically apply it to the highest priced item.
