Hey everyone, new to this site and must say there is a ton of good info to be found. So after reading all the posts in here about cleaning up and restoring garages it has motivated me to want to do the same to mine.

I am thinking about picking up the HF red tool cart but i had some questions that i was not able to find the answers after searching for awhile and was hoping someone can help. From reviewing the product video on HFs site i can see on both sides of the main compartment that it has screwdriver holes it seems on both side of the unit with the flip top. I was wondering if anyone who owns one could please tell me how many can each side hold?

also does anyone know if you can order another "bottle/container" shelf for it? IE if you look at the main picture its that little shelf you can stick oil or wd40 that's about half way down the side of the cart.

Now my final question is does anyone know how offend they go on sale? i seem its currently on sale for $199 but some of the review i saw for it listed the cart as low as $99.

friend has one in his shop, not sure about the holes, but I think better than six per side. great cart and tool box for the money, not snap on but good. I have never seen the 5 drawer for 99, only the 4 drawer for that price. I think locally here in Roanoke VA the 5 drawer is on sale for 159.00. On a side note, I bought the 44" 13 drawer cabinet a few months ago for 359, well worth the money. drawer slides are strong, layout is good,

I just bought this cart and it is awesome! Best price I could find was a super coupon for $169. I can't remember if there is 6 or 8 screwdriver holders per side but at least 6.

I would highly recommend buying this cart, you won't be sorry.

I've never seen it for $99, I got mine for $149, and it seems they are no lower than $169 right now.

Mine has 8 holes. The tray can't be purchased seperately, but I have seen a few people make them.

Thanks everyone for the responses, I think i am going to order mine today. I am going to be using this in a very very small 1 car garage so for the size and price it sounds perfect.

I just went with a friend to pick up a cart for him, $169 with a coupon. We put it together in less than an hour.

They changed the name tag on them in the last 8 months.

I got one a few years ago when it was still flat red not glossy. It's a great cart.

I had picked it up the cheapest I ever saw it which was $129, but those days are long gone, as is the 41" toolbox for $274 or whatever.

Harbor freight has caught on that those two item are pretty damn nicely built products and people want then, and so they have slowly increased the pricing little by little over the past couple years.

Hi everyone. I just joined a couple of days ago and just bought this cart yesterday myself. I don't know about the older versions, but mine had 11 holes on each side, 4 just under 1/2 inch, 4 3/4 inch and 3 one inch holes.

And I'll third the motion. Amazing box for the price.

I also threw away those crappy chrome handle covers, they slide around and just get in the way, I felt the drawers are much better to handle without them installed.

How many have disconnected the interlock so you can open drawers with the top down?

I have done it twice, and it is a great mod.

Same here, I recommend it for home use. If you don't have the need to lock the cabinet up then it's just a pain in the *** when you go to grab something and because the lid is down the drawers won't open.

Just remove the tabs on the backs of the drawers, problem solved.

Bought one of these last week and just got around to filling it today. Good call on how to disable the locks - was thinking today that I'd like to do that.

I just bought the black version of the HF 5 Drawer Tool Cart. After getting it assembled I can't unlock and open the top lid. Of course without the lid opening the drawers don't open.

I can insert the key but I can't turn it. I tried tapping the lock and the lid - etc. Nada....

My thought was to drill out the lock - but if anyone has any other thoughts or advice that would be great. Thank you!

to clarify, it was unlocked and you closed it and then locked it. Now it won't unlock?
If so, does it feel like the lock wants to turn, but the mechanism is hanging up? Have you tried pressing down or lifting up on the lid while turning the key?
