Trying to see if anybody here knows if HF will be making a blue toolbox 44", 56" or 72". I see they started making a blue tool cart.
That's a good question. Try asking a store manager if they come in other colors.

I have heard tell that that other colors are coming. Actually have found a buyer for my gen1 box in expectation so if it could come out sooner that would be awesome.

FWIW, I sent HF an email inquiring about the new 44 and bigger boxes being available in blue or black. We'll see in a few days if they respond back.

If they don't do black and blue the need shooting, bad enough new models minimal improvements. Without better color choices HF going take a knock on box sales as Homak, Masterforce, Husky upped the game play and prices are all close and 2 to 300 more gets you way better latch design, product build and finish ...

Got a reply today from HF customer service;

Thank you for contacting Harbor Freight Tools.

Unfortunately, we do not have much information regarding the larger tool storage units coming in different colors. We have been told that some will but nothing specific beyond that.

We suggest keeping an eye on our website for further information.

Please advise if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Dustin S

Don't you have to offer assistance before you can offer further assistance? Talk about one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing.......

I agree. I expected some change to drawer layout or latch design. All they did was make it deeper while making the add on drawers and cabinet skinnier. If anything I think they made the system worse even if the slightly deeper main box is nicer.

Kind of my thoughts on this as well. I was excited at first...especially if they were to be released in blue...then come to find out the side cabinet and side locker are narrower than before...kind of negates the increased depth and devalues the add-ons.

That seems incredibly useless of them. Could just say they cant tell you but them saying they dont know seems intentional.

Harbor Freight's inventory tracking or point of sale system (Not sure which) is called "Chameleon." A few weeks ago, a manager and I looked up item no 64004 in Chameleon, which is a blue 72" toolbox. It had a price of $1099, but only looked like a system placeholder - it didn't have any stocking info. If I remember correctly, a black 72, and a blue and black 52" were in here as well.

My thoughts were that he is just a body answering emails with no real knowledge of anything.

Although, he didn't confirm or deny it, he didn't offer much help either. A simple "yes, but it will be Summer '18 before they are released" would be much more helpful. It might also keep some people from buying other boxes if they are steered away from HF as they want a color other than red.

I'm hoping they'll be around for father's day. I've heard they discount pretty well around then.

Going to hold out for a bit for a blue or black 72". Come late summer if they havent popped up I'll have to look elsewhere.

Nice. I stopped in yesterday and one of the workers said it would be a year or two until they get the new colors. I guess the only people that really know are in the hf corporate office.

I work for a large multinational firm, no one ever knows anything about anything. It's not only product quality that is slipping today, it's organizational quality, leadership quality, management quality, services quality. everything is about the bottom line, cheapest possible, maximize profit. It cost money for employees to know what is going on and that in the MBAs equations these days.

Yeah I see that every day. I dont know everything but I love learning what the parts we make are and what they do. We apperently even used to make something for Snap-on. Probably a pipe wrench.
