HF Tire changer storage

I have read all the threads, seen the trailer hitch mounts and have decided to install mine on a pallet. However, I do not have room to store it inside the garage, so it will end up outside, probably under the deck.

Covering it with plastic tarp can be accomplished...but....will it end up a rusty pole after the winter?

How about any 'quick connect' ideas? I don't / won't use it too often so maybe just biting the bullet and bolting it to the pallet when I need it is the best idea.

Look on line for a product called fluid film and spray it down before you cover it I have had good luck with this seems to keep the corrision off most of the stuff I use it on.

mine was use and has been outside for many years. even my Coats tire changer sits outside that the best I can do.

Man, some days the simplest answers blow me away. My HF changer is outside too. Less than 25' away I have a plastic 55 gallon barrel that already has the end cut off. Never occurred to me to use it. Of course, that might be becAuse I've been using it as a shop can. Thanks for the idea!

Bad part is you spend 1/3 the cost of the HF tire changer, buying a barrel to cover it! LOL!

Nah, I get mine off the side of the road! The one I'm going to use actually had a free sign taped to it.
