Bought the new big cart yesterday. Had the old small one for 6 months+. It was good to me but fell over and banged it up pretty good, wouldn't lock..

This cart is much bigger and is a nice upgrade for me.

Dissapointed a little with the 2 casters that dont 360 swivel..could get use to it but rather not. Is there a reason they sell it like this, anyone buy 2 extra caster? Part number?
Pry bar handles still stick up a inch too high to close lid and lock.

Was excited when I saw the key, reminded me of snapon key but of course it feels cheap in operation. Best 170 I ever spent.
I'll get some better pictures of how I set it up at work

All 4 wheels spinning makes maneuvering more difficult especially when it's loaded. You typically want the turning wheels on the end you are pushing and the non-turning on the other. Then it moves around easy-peasy like a forktruck.

depth for the slots is it's main flaw along with no corner protection.
Why they didn't deepen the top 40-50mm is beyond me .
Corner edge guards would of been good too on a very mobile cart.
I personally can see 2 360 castors better than 4 (don't want tip this one over too) but it a preference thing, you may be able source them through HF customer line in time and more so if can find a suitable part number .

You would appreciate two non-turning castors if you ever had to move your loaded cart on an angled surface. Say along the front of 9 garage bays with entrance surfaces that slope down away from the doors.

The 2/2 configuration with the casters works better in some scenarios than others. I used mine when I worked in an RV shop and the two fixed casters made it really nice to wheel the cart back and forth between bays 60-80 feet apart. But in my 20x20' home garage I much prefer 4 swivel casters for maneuverability.

Like WWheeler posted, those brackets go on the inside corners under the lid. They are not completely symmetrical and can be put in the wrong way, so pay attention to how they go in.

If you want to replace the casters with swivels use these from harbor freight (item#61648). Only downside is they're blue. Worked fine for me and I much prefer 4 swivels in my home garage for maneuverability.

I also used 4 swivel casters (can't remember which two I bought, except it was at HF and they were a perfect fit when mounting them).

I have very little room in my garage (home), and being able to turn it around its center axis was important to me.

Appreciate the response. Still figuring out setup, but for sure it's a much bigger/better cart.

I suspect the need for corner protection is overblown. Once you put the side tray, the optional folding tray, and the handle on it, or any other number of custom improvements (see the modifications thread) those will likely hit objects before the legs ever would.

Come on man. All the cool kids have buggy bumpers on their carts. :bounce:

I tend to disagree. I have put swivels on two of my SO boxes to allow easy movement in tight spaces. My boxes are overloaded one is filled with machine tooling and a 3in1 on top. It moves much better with 4 swivels than two.
I gave away my HF cart as it was unstable and there were to many things that did not fit due to size of drawers
