Hi everybody,
on my web research how to enhance my workshop layout I stumbled across this Forum. I just took a first glance, but I think I am already right at home!

Living in Germany - with a little tighter in space - I envy most of you for the sheer size of your workshops! :eyecrazy:

I just finished the restoration of my 1966 VW fastback and there are a lot of new projects to come.

Hoping to find some like-minded gearheads and a lot of cool ideas...:3gears:

Welcome to the Journal. There are a lot of huge shops, here. But also a lot of creative use of smaller spaces.

But what we call small here might be considered enormous in parts of Europe.

I've got a not-too-distant cousin of your VW in my garage. :)

Welcome to GJ,

I know what you mean with the smaller storage and space. Come form the US, I had to get uses to smaller storage area for my tools. No large 56" tool charts, but have to deal with 2 27" charts instead to get them in place.

Lets see some pics of the vw

Wow,
thank you for the warm welcome!
I am just in the final preparations to visit Germanys biggest meeting for air cooled VW's.
(Tomorrow is bank holiday in Germany!)
After my return I will post some pics of the garage and my Fastback - the "Volksback".
For the curious souls (aren't we all?), here is a link to my own blog - don't worry, it is in English language...: http: //www.yeti69.blogspot.de - use the "ältere Posts" button to go backwards in time.
'til later with pics and more details,
Markus

just a quick update. I am living in the western part of Germany, near Essen and Düsseldorf.
I will introduce my garage in an own thread, starting now...

I always had a soft spot for Volkswagens, spending the first years in the rear seat of a Beetle and learning a lot of technical stuff during repairs / update of a friends VW Buggy.
Of course, my first car was a VW Beetle as well.
Even today the simplicity, style and reliability still amazes me.
