Only thing a HF worth putting in my car is the red roll 5 drawer cart, Daytona jack and maybe the new ratchet line (snap on copies) they carry
Everything else has either broken immediately or caught fire
Read one of the articles on "break away torque" It is in the same category as "peak horse power" , "100 watts of music power", and 6 hp motors running on 120 volts. They are all some form of unsustainable peak power that lasts an instant and makes good advertising copy. That is not to say that the Earthquake does not have a decent amount of power.I'm skeptical of the 1200 foot pounds claim.
However... a high torque impact wrench has been on my "want" list for a while now...

DeWalt won a suit a number of years ago just because the other guy's tools were yellow.. It was some low end brand.I'm really curious to see how DeWalt responds to them using the "20V Max" branding, and the fact that the Hercules batteries are basically direct rip-offs of the DeWalt battery.
Darn, that looks pretty nice for $80.00.I just went to my local HF to get this:

It is the AC Delco one. Built like a tank. its on sale right now for $79.99. That is less than half of the AC price. They had to get it out of the back as they just received these new cordless tools today. They are setting up new displays tomorrow.
I'm done buying anything from Harbor Freight until they cull all of the junk tools and hardware from their stores.
I'm in a bad mood because I just finished fighting with female HF quick disconnect that won't fit my Milton male fitting. The opening in the HF female fitting is too small.
As long as they carry junk in their lineup, I don't feel like spending time and energy being a beta tester to figure what is good and what is useless in their junk lineup.
Harbor Freight, in general, makesSears look like Snapon.

I don't know him, or want to know him, or care what he thinks.
He imports junk tools that I don't need.
I've bought junk there in the past, and feel dirty every time I leave the store with a purchase. I can't think of one too that I couldn't have found elsewhere.
What's he think on the torque rating? Is it accurate? Not even close?Anyone get some time with that ratchet yet? One of my techs has been reaming on his for a few weeks in a high volume Ford dealer and he loves it

I believe that is protected under a category called trade dress. John Deere green, etc etc. pretty common.

He thinks it's fairly close to spec. He doesn't have to manually loosen the intake manifold bolts on the Escapes and Focus's which h had to do with his M12.
I'll keep this updated every once in a while with a flat rates thoughts

Good news. I was just sitting here wondering how you felt about Harbor freight. This thread is at least six years old. I will say that HF quality has improved in that time.
I no longer have an aversion to entering the store.

In this case, I think dnschmidt had a valid concern about the usefulness of older threads. All the time I find myself answering questions on threads that I later find out are five years old. By that time who cares as the original poster has either solved his problem or died. I'm not saying that these threads should be deleted I'm saying that they should not be able to be resurrected by new responses to them. If you have a new problem make a new post.
Honda, not so much. This thread is at least six years old. I will say that HF quality has improved in that time.
