That's a lot of hard handles in the last pic of the yellow auction! :shocking: Lots of duplicates and beat up ones though. Probably would have done better if he separated them into sets and sold the leftovers in one lot...or maybe his logic is to overwhelm bidders by sheer volume

Unless he's an OCD hoarder, my guess is he used to be a Snap_On route drive, a dist. mgr or Snap-on Corp. / factory employee.

Nice collection but one that requires a psych evaluation pronto. LOL

Those prices are WAAAAY out of my league lol
The last picture is everything together, each auction appears to be broken down by color.
I even spot an orange HS50 cutter!

I don't understand reserve price auctions at all. What is the point of letting somebody place a bid that the seller isn't even going to accept? Just start the auctions at your minimum acceptable price. Reserve price auctions seem like the seller is playing games to me. I just don't get it.

But, those are some nice screwdriver collections!

I will never under stand buying so many of the same tool just for the sake of collecting it. I have a lot of tools and few duplicates but that is only for my road kit for on site installs and what not. Are tools really that collectable? Are the hard handles really that collectable? I know this is blasphemy but I prefer the instinct handles to the old hard handles, and I bought them to I dont know actually use them

OK, for those watching at home, I just did a count...
195 screwdrivers...almost all are duplicates...I have a crapload of mini screwdrivers that are always given away at tradeshows. My main screwdrivers are the Kleins in my voice and data toolbag, and my Snap-on drivers in my toolbox. I continue to give away the Craftsman ones I no longer use. My ratcheting screwdriver count is only 9 which PALES in comparison to many on here :)
I have various old screwdrivers I've come across, as well as some Bell System ones.
I never said I wasn't nuts!

Seriously, why not collect tools? Makes a lot more sense to me than collecting Beanie babies, Barbies, soda and beer cans; even pop tops! Not to mention some of the other drivel people find fascinating.

I have far more tools than I would ever need to do the job at hand most of the time. but I happen to like the "Long C" craftsman and Plvmb tools for instance, they have a character and a style that the uber polished chrome tools don't. Nothing wrong with chrome either, but I grew up using WWII and Korea era tools, and they speak to me in a way that polished chrome does not.

If you are not a collector of any sort, no one can explain it to you, so let me ask you that very question: do you collect anything? Or are you a mimimalist sort of person?

Jeff wins!

I did a very rough count:

About 30 on/in my desk, mostly little ones in a "tools cup"
60 give or take in my main tool box screwdriver drawer.
maybe a dozen or so wood handled screwdrivers in the "Vintage" tool box
And I think 16 of so in a rack on the edge of my bench next to the vise.
Certainly a couple in the road box and probably a few here and there like in camping.

Maybe 120 or so? :dunno: I need to complete the "screwdriver" part of my inventory....

Not counting any nut drivers or bit drivers/bits.

I did notice on the standard blue Craftsman screwdrivers............. #2 phillips x4''.
WF........... Western Forge, right? there is a digit before that. I have an A,B,C,D and square. I assume these are date codes? How many different ones are/were there?
I think I found another way of acquiring.

I wonder what my new 8-piece yellow set and my new yellow mini screwdriver set and mini torx set are worth..

Ok, here goes. I actually have a few more screwdrivers than what is pictured...my dad's Stanley Handyman set from the 80s in a box, and a bunch of tools I got from my grandpa, which are all in their own box.

1) various mini drivers that live on my bench...these always come in handy!
IMG_1671.jpg

2) misc Klein and Craftsman from my sound and cable TV toolbags, along with a Megapro.
IMG_1672.jpg

3) my main screwdrivers from my voice and data bag, with one Snap-on flathead.
IMG_1674.jpg

4) screwdriver drawer in my toolbox, Snap-on and Craftsman, got the yellow mini set recently.
IMG_1675.jpg

5) old screwdrivers, including several old Klein that are WAY better than the current ones.

6) extra Snap-on drivers and a Craftsman torx set on a wall rack.
IMG_1677.jpg

7) multi-bit screwdrivers in a holder that was made for me by a guy at work.
IMG_1678.jpg

8) last but not least, Snap-on stubby drivers and my ratcheting screwdriver collection!

Is the yellow rare? I know where a yellow ratcheting SO is NIB.
You can get yellow ratcheting screwdrivers NiB off the snap on truck currently but if you're talking about the older, what I call "shiney" ones, they're a bit more rare.

lol I'll never get them all....but Ill give it the ol' college try! Just too many of them and people want too much ****** money for the ones that are out there! besides, we have son#2 arriving this coming October so I'll have to start on another color!
