Rails are in my hands, just have to get to shop and install them so I can complete drawer load. Excited to start using new box. Think new.
Looking good buddy!

Thanks, ready to do work and finish my friends project. Funny how rewarding yourself can add motivation.
So my brother has a metal brake, so thinking about getting some sheet metal and building a cap for the box and adding light and shelf for cordless chargers. We will see how that goes once I measure the length of his brake.
what are they doing with all the damaged box's? if its just appearance/small dent might b worth it.

I know Northern tool has dropped Homak, wish I bought more during the blackfri deals 2 yeras ago.
Hey Andy, love the power strip solution, I'm ready to tackle the same. Were you able to mount it with any hardware included with the strip? What color blue paint did you use? I have the Pantone color code from Homak as they don't offer touch up paint. What hardware and brackets did you use if they weren't included with the strip? Thanks!
Mark me down as a recent purchaser of the same 72" blue box several have. It took three tries for NAPA to get one in without damage. If anyone is around Indianapolis, the Greenwood store likely still has a scratch and dent model on the floor. Unsure of price.
I got your PM but figured I would reply here on the thread. Post #203 shows the mounting and post #207 has the link to Amazon where I got the power strip from. The C channel was bought in 2' length from Home Depot and paint is just a Rustoleum spray I think Gloss Deep Blue was the color. I will have to get you details tomorrow on everything and I'll post a few more pictures that will show some of the steps a little better on the assembly. Its not prefect and I may redo the mount at some point because of personal OCD but it is sturdy for plugging in and removal, I can't tell of any flex or anything.
Wow Amazon is showing over $900 for that power strip. It is nice, but not nine hundred dollars nice.![]()

Wow I just went into my Amazon account orders and back tracked from there and it came up $950. Thats ridiculous. I paid around $120 for it. Anyways if you find one similar or the pricing on that one comes down here’s the parts I used and you can reference the pics below. There are two of these brackets to hold the strip onto the box.
-36” long x 2” wide x .5” leg .125” thick c channel from home depot. Cut to about 12-16” length, cant remember and cant move the box by myself to get you an exact measurement. You gotta layout and drill the holes. Leave enough c channel below the rivnut to spread the load of pushing a plug into the outlet down the back of the box a little ways. And you have to notch it to clear the sheetmetal fold at the top of the box.
-M8 bolts and washers to thread into the factory rivnuts in the back of the box. Use the bolt from your handle to gauge your length. I think the smaller bolts were M6.
-rutoleum deep blue gloss spray paint and gloss clear. Pulled the end caps off the power strip and masked the stainless front face.
-scrap rubber to protect main box from the c channel. Didnt want to drill into or damage the main box in any way. Wanted to be able to pull off all my mods if I need to someday and not have any permanent damage to the box.
-double sided tape. I had 3M stuff laying around. Used it to hold the rubber in till it was clamped in place and laid a run the whole length of the power strip on the bottom to the stainless top.

Has everybody that purchased the Homak box had to order it? I am interested in their 54" combo but it seems like no NAPA store ANYWHERE has ANY Homak boxes of any size in stock to "look at and feel" before I'd go ahead and order.
I just would really love to see one before I spend a bunch of money ordering one.

Would moving one of the extra sets of rails from the smaller bottom deep-drawer work on the top full-width drawer? I've been thinking of trying that instead of ordering another set of rails...
I was at NAPA, asked for the key to open the 72" RS box. They couldn't find it.![]()
That's not a bad idea....maybe I'll play with that tomorrow. I don't see why it wouldn't, all drawers are 24" deep ya?

FYI - Just tried it and it works like a champ. Pulled 2 top slides off of smaller bottom drawer and installed them on the top drawer.![]()
