I've been pretty underwhelmed by most of the BF ads, but this one looks pretty good. Some nice deals in there.

Yeah I think Im finally gonna pick up that shop vac that I need, looks better than the one at lowes for sure

I think HD waited to see what Lowe's was going to put out, then trumped them. I know the Lowe's ad has been out on Facebook for a while. I need some shelf units, and I was happy to see them at Lowe's for $49 on BF. I see at HD they are $29 and they state "compare at $50". Hmm.... Regular price is @ $100.

Thanks for posting up the link. That is a great deal on that Rigid vac. We bought one last Black Friday but we didn't have enough room in our townhome to keep it, so we had to give it away as a gift (the recipient loves it). I need to get one now that I have room.

Curious about that cordless Rigid Jobmax 12-volt multi-tool. I need something cordless to cut sheet metal at a junkyard (need to cut out a piece of a floor pan from a Golf/Jetta to replace a rusted piece in my own vehicle). Would something like this do the job?

I plan on picking up some of those shelves ...

I'll hopefully pick them up tuesday, and then get a refund for the difference between sale and regular price on friday That way I don't have to fight a crowd and more likely to find some in stock.

Home Depot (at least ours) will refund a regular price purchase if the same item goes on sale within 5 days.

Not if you're in a hurry.

I think the $100 shelves you're referencing are taller. The shelving in the ad is only 5' tall.

Lowe's preview was out, not the full ad yet.

These ads are all printed ahead of time, with the deals decided and planned for months before that.

Home Depot sent preemptive warnings to many Black Friday ad sites warning them that publishing leaked ads would cause them damages.

Stores don't want these ads leaked because it allows other retailers to make last minute modifications to their online-only deals.

I have(had) 2 sets of the shelves noted in the advert. Don't waste your money. The shelf inserts are - if you can believe this - 1/4" particle board. The units are a royal PITA to assemble, and unless you mount them to the wall, will not support very much weight without racking.

I made mine better by cutting new shelves out of 1/2" plywood, but when I moved from my old shop to my new shop, the pain and suffering of assembling the shelves the first time spurred me to toss the pieces of junk into the dumpster.

Just my opinion...

There is a similar shelving unit at Sams, except it's taller and has a total of 6 shelves for $54.98 - better buy IMHO than the $30 items on the flyer.

You may want to ask about that price adjustment. Most retailers have a similar
policy but have "black friday" exclusions. I know Sears does and your results may vary...just sayin'

How pathetic is it that we are posting ads for a sale that won't happen for weeks....

...however I immediately read every page.

Better go early. Last year all the Home Depot's sold out of the vacs in like 20 minutes. I think I got to the first one at 6:15 AM and that's what the guy told me.

The vac is the bomb though. HD runs Rigid vac sale every year and I bought one several years ago. Wanted a second one so I could have one in the basement (a room under the house for you Southerners) and one in the garage.

My 76 year old mom borrowed the 5 HP Rigid vac a few years ago and liked it so much, she bought her own at full price.

Cordless recip saw instead + some The Ugly metal blades are your best friend. Available from Walmart believe it or not.

That Ryobi cordless screwdriver is pretty nice (for around the house use). I got one a year or so ago, will drive a 2.5 screw into 2x4's no problem.

After happily using my Craftsman for awhile, I borrowed an old, beat-up Rigid at a jobsite once. I couldn't believe how much stronger the ugly ole' Rigid sucked then my slightly used/babied Craftsman. Night/day.

I was in Home Depot here today. They had some really nice Husky Tool drawers for a nice price. I always go to HD. I think they have the best in supplies.

Ok, stupid question as I have never been to a BF sale. Lets say I get there early and just so happen to be the first one in, how do you go find these deals in the store? Are they all up in the front or do you have to just go run around looking for them?

I want that Rigid vac and I might have to jump on that four piece stainless kitchen combo with a savings of 1354 bucks.

That's exactly what I did. Gave it to him for Christmas. He said it was one of the best tools I ever gave him. :D It really is a pretty good shop vac, I've been happy with it. If it was $20 again this year I would pick one up just to leave in the attic until the one I have breaks. Not really going to do that with it at $28 though.

Opinions are very much like butts, we all got em, and they are ALL different!

I have had a set of those shelves in my pantry since 2005, they have been loaded with everything from canned goods to paper towels, the particle board is starting to sag a little, but that particular shelf is loaded with canned goods! Just sayin!
There again it's an opinion! :headscrat

Anyone have any thoughts on the Kraftech bench grinder in the Menard's BF ad? Looking to pick one up, will only get use d a few times a year, and not having any luck finding one cheap on CL.

They were on sale this spring in our area for the same price as last years black friday sale $20.00.

I used to work at HD and those vacs go QUICK! people will buy 25-30 of them and then resell them a few weeks later for a healthy profit.

Last year we had 10 full pallets of the shop vacs and they were all gone in under 30 minutes.

One guy even bought a full pallet. Still in shrinkwrap when I used the forklift to put it in the back of his truck.

your store sucked then. Its limit 2 per customer exactly so that people dont do that and screw others who were going to actually purchase for use.

thats pretty unimpressive to me. The vac looks like a good deal, but Im not fighting a crown of angry people for it, the rest of it is meh, wow $5 off a crappy ratcheting multi wrench. no thanks.

I was really hoping they would have the irwin clamps on sale again. I know they have a pack up there now, but it has less clamps in it

what do you guys think about the husky black nickel wrench set? is it worthy of being in the garage?

Looks to be the same made in India ones that are at Costco, but in black. They are about $16 at Costco for 32 wrenches they have mixed but mostly good reviews.
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73452

Also sold at Amazon for $30
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MFAD6O/?tag=atomicindus08-20

And Northern Tool for $30
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200377665_200377665

Each one is a different brand with different packaging but seem to be made by the same company in India.

So confused...

I have older dewalt 18V drill/driver, jab saw, and trim saw, all of which get considerable use in my home shop. Had three batteries, one bit the dust, two still working. The drill/driver has been broken for some time now in that the transmission is stuck in drill mode so no use of the clutch is possible anymore. I've taken it apart but the transmission looks to be a sealed unit.

Been wondering about where to go from here, maybe start down the road of lithium with lifetime battery replacement with the ridgid compact drill/driver and hope my dewalt jab saw and trim saw will limp along with the remaining two dewalt batteries. I just can't afford to replace the whole set of three tools at once.

Then I see they have an 18v dewalt compact (non-lithium) with two batteries for $99. How much do the dewalt 18v batteries cost as stand alones? My current dewalt 18v batteries says XRP, but the ones in the add don't appear to be XRP. Does that mean they would not work on my dewalt cordless tools?

Thanks
