Ive seen at least 4 of the new skus in the overhead and they were all Estwing. A 19oz and 21oz Ultra, a 21oz with what looked to be its own leather holster, and a black hatchet type. Still awaiting the reset to happen. Central Texas

Just grabbed this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...Kit-2453-22/203807396?quantity=1&str_nbr=6380

$114.09 seemed like a pretty good deal. Everywhere else has it around $169. That's what it was at HD like two weeks ago. It was still in my cart at that price from back then.

Wow thanks. $114 for a 2453-22 Fuel 1/4" hex impact is awesome. It was down to $139 in stores near the end of the free tool promo (which ended 9/3) but only if your store stocked it -- mine doesn't. Plus this is free ship-to-home.

Maybe wrong sexton but I was wondering if someone could help.

I have a newly acquired m12 Milwaukee Hackzawl and I was at home depot today looking for those small blades but for cutting metal. The tool came with 2 blades but they have teeth and I think they are for wood. Anyways can someone tell me if I can cut metal with those? Or what blades should I buy? Thanks.

I have a Home Depot clearance question that maybe one of you could help me with.

A local store has some tile on "clearance" at not even 10% off. I have a bathroom project which would be a good use of the partial pallet they have left. I bought loose tiles equivalent to a box and took them home to see how they looked....they were good.

I went back and asked if they could do any better on price for the rest of the stock and the person on the floor offered about another few percent...not even 10% more off. I politely asked if that was the best they could do....I wasn't looking to pay 10 cents on the dollar, just better since if I get tight on tiles, I'm screwed and $50 isn't enough savings for me for the risk.

She said she could ask her manager, and the manager said he could not even do the $50 off offered by the sales person because if he did, the store would have to eat the entire sale. According to the manager the manufacturer would be eating the sale at the slight discount. Huh? I'm not sure how they would be eating the sale if I was buying.

While I was polite, the salesperson was fine, this department manager did not impress me with his explanation or his attitude. I guess I thought sales were good for stores.

I thought it was reasonable to ask for a better deal on clearance product. Can anyone help me understand why the staff didn't seem more interested in making a sale?

Each store has a markdown budget as a percent of their sales. This budget is usually used to take care of damaged product that needs to be marked down (green tags), appeasing customers that are irate, or other screw ups like installs etc. When something goes yellow tag clearance it is the buyer or company as a whole taking the markdown and the only thing the store takes a hit on is the lost margin. Margin can be leveraged easily by other sales. If the store would've taken additional dollars off the tile, that discount would've been the responsibility of the store and they may not have had the budget for it. For example, if the day before there was a major flooring install screw up and the store had to eat it to make the customer happy, you can forget about extra markdowns until the budget is back to normal. Hope this explanation made sense.

I picked up a Milwaukee Sawzall that was on the clearance rack. Store claimed it had been used for one of their in-store demos. The Saw did not have a price on it and when I asked for the price it was only like 25% off. I had the tool guy get the manager and I told the manager that I was thinking that it needed to be around 40% off and he said okay and gave it to me. I think its all in who you get at each store. But I always live by the sayings "you will never know if you don't ask" and "all they can do is say no"

Re: Home Depot Clearance/sale Thread 2014

I bought all 6 LED Maglites my store had. They were on a hook ion a clearance rack marked 19.79 9 something. They all rang up for $7 and some change though. They will make good Christmas gifts lol.

all the ones at my store were $29.97 or whatever and the sales help said they werent discounted. After reading this I should have had he scan them! Grr. Any idea if these are still on clearance?

I'm pretty sure they do. It's just most of it isn't done with Johnny the homeowner. It's done at the contractor's sales area, Mon-Fri from about 7 am til Noon.

Thanks for comments, yours and the others. Maybe I can get over there in the morning and ask someone different I get your point.
I hear the markdown budget idea but I don't get it. I will probably try one more store
Thanks, everyone

I think you're missing the point.

They'll negotiate, yes, but with contractors spending several thousand dollars per visit.

True but you don't need to be a contractor, My sister ordered about 16,000 dollars for a house remodel a couple of years ago, when we walked over the special order area, the guy asked my sister what she was buying and how much she was going to spend. He ended up giving her over 900 dollars in discounts spreed over most of all the items she was buying. She had a 0% deal for 18 months or so. ended paying it off before that. So yea you can get a discount, but it has to be a bulk buy.

Not sure if this qualifies as a clearance item, but they have the PC full round or clipped framing nailers for $99 each. For a DIYer it's not a bad deal. Just picked one up in preparation for a shed build next year.

Full round: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Porter-C...ERCH=RV-_-RV_gm_pip_rr-3-_-NA-_-203555586-_-N

Clipped: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Porter-C...-Framing-Nailer-FC350B/203555581?N=5yc1vZc2bf

Thanks! Ordered one this morning. I planned to build a shed next month and was going to go at it with a framing hammer... this should speed up the process and save my shoulder some aches.

Full round or clipped refers to the head of the fastener. Full round looks like a regular head nail with a round head. The clipped head has a small part of the round head clipped off so the nails can be packed closer together in the magazine.

Some local codes require the full round head when nailing earthquake shear walls of in hurricane type high wind areas.

Good deal! Is the price the same in-store or do I have to order online to get the deal?

the clipped head nailer can use full round heads as well, but not vise-versa

You can use full round, but they have to be off-set full round nails.

It's the same price in-store as it was part of a contractor special. YMMV though as I placed an order at 4 different stores for the round head nailer where they said they had stock and all 4 got cancelled. Luckily I ran out during lunch and was able to find a store that had the clipped head nailer in stock and picked that one up.

It's sold out online and all the stores around me have already sold their display model. I'm taking the ad (found one in HD) to Lowes (they sell the same nailer) and getting them to price match + 10% off.

Is this ad local to you? Can you post/scan a photo of the ad? The local stores are show 2-3 in stock of the full round model, but as described above I can't get post pick a store/place order. At 12 noon I was able to order, but then of course they canceled it. Gonna hit a couple in the morning.

As mentioned previously, its a contractor special deal. I will try to get it scanned tomorrow. I walked in the contractor entrance this morning and saw the flyer. No stores around me ever have the full round in stock, just the clipped.

I was just looking at nail guns this week but I decided they were too expensive for how much I'll use it, but now you go and post this. I just might have to pick one up.
