Considering they started out at $600, that's over $400 off. Can the g/f top that one?

I don't need one either, but I don't have my own miter saw except the cordless Ryobi that I picked up with the $150 off. I still have to figure out how to make an M18 adapter.

Yeah I just put a reminder in my phone to call HD in the morning to see if any of the local ones have one. Too cheap to pass up!

One inexpensive Milwaukee adapter could come from the clearanced incandescent bulb Milwaukee worklight which you could attach to a Ryobi battery shell

Just to make sure you know, this is not the DWS780 that is $600. This DWS782 came out for the holiday season and does not come with the LED light and is not compatible. But for $200, it is definitely worth that! I am going to Austin tomorrow for the week for work and called a store down there last week and purchased 2 of the for $239 each. I wonder if they will refund me the difference when I pick them up?

You will probably have to return/rebuy if you've already paid for them. So this is the 782 but without the LED gimmick light? Still, $400 was a good deal. This is now just too good to pass up. My dad has one that he bought for $400 because I told him to. I shouldn't have told him that they're half off now, lol. But good 12" sliding double bevel miter saws are usually $400-$600 (or more).

It is definitely a good deal. But I wouldn't consider the light to be "gimmicky". It is a very highly regarded upgrade/luxury/necessity when doing woodworking.

Is the light LED for seeing or Laser to show the line of cut?

Both local HD's dropped the price of the DWS782 miter saw to $200.04. Just picked one up. They were $239 earlier this week.

Also, when I called to check the price, I gave them the SKU#, 917666. They told me the price and the quantity on hand; they had 3, and when I looked for them, they were all on a top shelf in the tools dept., required a small man-lift to get mine down.

If you're trying to find one, just give your local HD a call and they should be able to tell you price and inventory with the SKU#.
I called a store near me (East of Columbus, OH) for the Dewalt DWS782 (917666), she said they were "clearanced out of the system, now it's online only". She said that none of the stores in her district have any left in stock, which basically includes the stores from Marysville OH going east almost to PA.

Too bad looks like a good deal.

Called all stores within an hours drive and none have any left :(

Found one store that might have two but it's a good drive. We'll see

My store told me they had 3, and they in fact had 3; all on the top shelf in the tools dept. If it's worth the drive to you, you can always speak to someone in the tools dept. to confirm their inventory before driving there.

Store went and checked and found one of the three they're supposed to have. They are holding it for me, so, apparently I've been talked into another purchase by GF, lol

Woohoo. More toys!

Haha, nice! If someone is in the market for a saw, it's really hard to pass on this deal. Plenty of saw for the price!

Picked up a few of these air tool accessory kits for $.01 ea. I saw them on a shelf on sale for $2.32 ea and I wanted to pick one up for a buddy who borrowed my tire inflator recently. I get to the check out and the cashier informed that I owed one penny. I asked her to wait and I grabbed nine more for a total of $.11! They are husky brand #1000 053 301

Well I did it and finally bit the bullet on the 12" sliding dbl bevel miter saw. At around 216.** after taxes...couldn't pass it up.

now I've got to see if they'll refund the price difference on the table saw I purchased...bought it when it was at 179.** and literally like a day later it dropped down to 150.**

Evidently I under estimated the size of this box. Got a tie strap to hold the back shut and I'm going with it! Haha

Local HD has starting fluid on clearance in the small engine section for $2 a can. These are regular size cans. I don't really use it to start engines but it makes for a great wasp and hornet killer lol.

Is the light LED for seeing or Laser to show the line of cut?

They both are used for the same purpose, to show the line where the cut is. The issue with the lasers are they aren't always in the exact spot, and can be adjusted. The light is fool proof. If the shadow is cast in a thin line, there is no room for something being "adjusted" and it being "off" like the laser. When I had a laser, I always questioned how "correct" it was and felt like I double checked most cuts as if I never even had the laser. With the light, it takes all question out of it.

Well, picked up the DWS782 for $170 after tax using a HF coupon. I was eyeing the C12RSH but couldn't pass up this deal. For anyone in the area, the Fishkill, NY store had one left.

It's a good thing. You actually use your Vette and to see tools in the trunk- just shows me that you're a total gearhead!

Damn cool sir!
Thanks. I got some weird looks but whatever..

I drive it upwards of 500 miles a week pretty often. And it's supercharged, so that's fun too.

Hate when people never drive them. 150K and no major issues on mine.

You guys are lucky I called every store 50 miles each direction from me. Every store was sold out of that saw. O well. Maybe next time.

I think the only reason I found the one I did was because the store didn't do a THING to show that there was any discount on these.. this is what their spot in the store looked like

The "up front" sign was for me apparently

They had one or two more actually.. surprisingly

This place is going to get me in trouble!

I already have a Bosch 12" SCMS, but that DeWalt is damn cheap.

Hell, Ive paid almost as much for a blade for my SCMS as that DeWalt is selling for now.

You will soon find yourself buying all kinds of stuff you didn't even know you needed. Hell, half the stuff I buy I didn't even know it EXISTED 6 months ago, haha.

And for better or worse, I've never even used a compound miter saw. For the price, I figured I might as well if I'll need one in the next few years

My Bosch saw was the first thing I ever bought using Prime shipping. I had to re-trim my whole house (as I painted each room I replaced the ratty stained trim with new white painted) so the saw was definitely useful.

Seeing Amazon ship all 70+ lbs of it 2nd day air for free was icing on the cake!

That is nice indeed. I had 112 orders from amazon prime in 2014.. so I know the feeling!

(can't believe it was that many..geez). I wish (or don't) Amazon had a way to export a summary of your transactions for a year or something. I really wonder how much I spent there last year.

Most of the stuff I buy from them comes from warehouse in the same state I'm in or one state south, so I don't feel too bad about the fast shipping

Now, the SUNDAY shipping has been flat our awesome. I ordered a water pump on Saturday afternoon a few weeks back and had it in my hand by 10am Sunday morning. Cost me $8 extra, lol. Local parts stores couldn't get it for 3-4 days and it was more expensive.

Order on Friday and get it on Sunday for free? Amazing.

Congrats on the new saw....doubt Amazon could ship the saw faster than that bad SC vette.
