Why? The word "scheme" does not necessarily imply anything shady.
Scheme: "a plan, design, or program of action to be followed; project. "
Again, interesting perspective. I quote the first two definitions on dictionary.com...
1. a plan, design, or program of action to be followed; project.
2. an underhand plot
When you ask the average, honest American the definition of "scheme", I'm wagering that they more commonly refer to the second definition.

You wouldn't believe what retail stores destroy and throw away.
And wholesalers are worse. Last years model gets destroyed.
Manufacturers? They are all about production. Imperfect?....Trashed.
It all gets credited in the books.
Even loss by theft is covered by insurance and accounting.
Not to say theft is right.
But when an authorized agent of the company conducts a transaction and you get something free or at reduced cost from "full retail", then neither party has taken advantage of the other. If fraud or misrepresentation is involved, then other rules apply.
This is the saw from a couple months ago, right? Just making sure I didn't miss something this week!I think HD pricing is per-store but eventually (at least around me) all the stores catch up to each other.
Found one of the DeWalt miter saws at a store about a mile from my house (technically in Fairfield County). They still had it priced at $200 at the time, but another store 10 miles from my house (in New Haven County) had them priced at $100. The closer store wouldnt match the price but told me they would adjust it for me if their price dropped.
3 days later their price dropped to $100.00 as well.
In my case, in Connecticut, Fairfield County always seems to be priced differently than the rest of the state. Things like groceries, and even sometimes McDonalds specials (read the fine print on the commercials if you are watching a CT station)....Fairfield County prices differently, has different promos, etc.

On another note, have you found the Delta Faucet anywhere in Ffld?
There is such a thing as too much information. Don't tell the employees that you are clearance hunting. Once they tell corporate then you might start seeing signs that terminals are for employees only, or they may password protect them. Say that you want to find something on the Home Depot website....
Me: Nothing in particular, I just wanted to see if I could find some things that have been marked down or on clearance.
Them: There's a clearance section in the middle of the store
Me: Can I check for other things on an instore computer?
Them: No, we dont have anything like that, and clearance items are not listed in our computer system.
So....what's the deal? Are they lying to me or are they just ignorant or is it possible that my local store doesn't have a computer?
I'm a little bummed.

I'm a legitimate consumer making legitmate purchases on credit cards and gift cards, yet I'm unable to make any returns, even with a receipt in hand.
Quoted for truth.
If it doesn't sell by X time, it gets trashed.
I guess don't understand the way clearance pricing works anymore, back when I worked retail clearance pricing was company wide. Now you can walk into two stores 10 miles apart from each other, one will have it on clearance nearly 90% off, the other is still full price or maybe a buck or two off and stays that way for weeks.
So if the manager chooses to honor the clearance pricing from another store, that is entirely up to them. Now, I will say that if you go into the store, ask for the price match, and they say no, that needs to be the end of it. Threatening to take it up the chain of command for something they're not obligated to do by any policy is just wrong.
speaking about return policy at HD... I was just in for a rude shock... I had recently gottne a Ryobi 18v weed wacker...since I had spare ryobi 18v battery deal.. and wife wanted something lightweight...
well after using it...it was a POS...no power and took forever... going back to gas power.
So I wrapped it up, cleaned it and put everything back in like factory..
I returned it and the HD girl saids...its USED...we can't take back USED stuff....I was like WTH....that has never happened to me in 20yrs of shopping at HD... and I hardly returned anything, unless defective..
She gave me hassle...I said if you guys did that...then HD won't sell anything and everybody would buy from your competition who have better return policy.
How can a person test out a product if not using and wheather its for them or not.
well after bunch of arguing or back and forth....she relented by saying just this one time..whatever...
I and wife tried it out one time doing the yard...and that was it...agreed it was POS.
Is this HD return policy true....no returns on USED products... ??? how are people supposed to buy without trying it out...this policy if true would steer me to Lowes shopping.
Just checked another HD and the computer showed they had one Addison faucet, but they couldn't find it anywhere. They took my name and number and said they'd call if it shows up (i won't hold my breath).
I found some other delta stuff...but high priced... I haven't checked instore sku price check yet.. Just saw the item with yellow tag...Doesn;t seem like a deal to me.

Ok, I was just using the first definition listed, which means it is the more popular one of the two...that's why I said "scheme" doesn't necessarily mean anything shady.
Big difference when someone is "scheming", or "planning"...

A few years ago I was warned by an employee at the customer service desk that I was a return or two away from being banned for too many returns. She suggested (a) save up all my returns until the end of a project and bring them in together (my wife claims no project is complete without at least 3 or 4 trips to the store--I think her estimate is low), and (b) pay by credit card and have them scan the card with the returns (it's as good as a receipt because their system can match it up).
No receipt returns are the fastest way to a ban. These systems are designed to reduce shoplifting so you can understand why that's the way they work.
Found the DWS782! Midlothian location, most other Richmond stores each have 1 in stock as well!
Unfortunately, it was at Lowes: $550... Might be time to give up the search.![]()

easy...Ask them to pricematch to Homedepot price...sku 917666 instore price of .01cents..... should get it for free almost...![]()
I suppose it's all the same to them as Home Depot doesn't actually do exchanges, but it's still dumb.
LolIf he could get the girl to price match to a penny he should try his luck asking her for a bj lol
There's no such thing as an exchange at HD. Return/rebuy is all they will do.
...
I hope this helps someone. I know it started out as a bit of a rant but at this point the gift card deal would have to be really good deal for it to be worth the hassle. I try to avoid them at all costs nowadays.
