Alright, so I made a trip back to my local store and was finally able to get a couple of items.
Last week I went into the store and found a bunch of clearance items on the computer with 3-4 on-hand. I spoke with a couple employees who advised to look in the clearance section and if it wasn't there they didn't have it. Nothing was located in the clearance section so I looked up in the rafters but didn't see anything so I left and was sad.
I went back today and went straight to the clearance table since it's Monday. What is the first thing I see? An item that they told me last week they no longer had and that I shouldn't bother looking for it. This makes me mad so I grab it and stick it in my cart and head over to the computer. I look up all the items I looked at last week and looked at the vendor information. At least 4 of the items they told me they didn't have last week now had a last sold date of either July 3rd or July 4th. Obviously someone found them and was able to purchase them.
Today I decided to look for batteries and found the 24 pack of AA Energizer batteries for $3.** with 7 on hand! I found one box that was heavily damaged and had been stapled like a million times to stay shut. I asked several employees where the other 6 might be and they all told me that they probably didn't have them and their system is probably wrong. One of the employees told me that I can't trust the inventory HomeDepot.com says and I informed her that I was utilizing their in-store price checking app and not Homedepot.com She continued to argue with me that it was the same thing so I just said okay and continued browsing the store.
I'm starting to think all of the employees around here are just dumb and/or misinformed.
