Just a tip on those Dyson's. I'm just typing "Dyson" into the search and not using the SKUs. There are three models that are discounted (in my area at least). The 65 Animal is coming up as $150 and is normally $600. Both the other two are 40's I believe but are somehow different. One is pricing out at $100 and the other at $279.

Just got back from checking 5 different HD's in my area and there are no Dyson's to be had. :(

What area are you at? Most of the tools everybody post here is close to full price in north Dallas area. I did find a m18 blower for a Penny two weeks ago. It had a 28.00 yellow tag, but scanned at .01. Cashiers and tool dept guy freaked out. They made a call, and whoever was on the other end, said sell it to him for a penny! Double A batteries for 3.57. But none of the m18 grinders or saws, impact drivers, still $99 or higher.

No luck during my search today.
No dyson on clearance at my local store. I noticed the Husky impact that was recently on clearance for $60 was now $20.03, showed 2 in stock but I couldn't find them.

I was walking down a random aisle as I needed some items and came across a Bostitch nailer. So I picked it up to examine, then a HD employee came and asked what I was doing. I asked him if he knew anything about it. He rudely asked, "where did you get that from?". He then showed me where the nailguns were at.
He told and showed me how they drill a hole in the display models in the air chamber. Seems so wasteful to me.

Im in Rowlett but am also close to the Rockwall, Wylie, Garland, and Mesquite stores. I found the Dysons in the computer at the store but all showed 0 stock for the ones on clearance. I went to each store and verified there were none hiding.

This. I don't understand either, are people smuggling out nail guns in their back pocket???

I always figured it was a safety/liability issue. It can't be all that hard to take a paint gun air tank, and rig it to run a nailer just long enough to cause some HD havoc? It's a very litigious society we live in.

It's been my experience that many HD employees really treat customers like ****. I'm a pretty polite guy in person, but when someone gets unnecessarily indignant, it's really difficult for me to maintain my composure. I often leave there, near boiling. The girl with all the fishing tackle on her face, who "tried" to tell me how to secure the new riding mower a few weeks ago was just flat out rude. And she really got miffed when I finally got her to understand that I didn't want, or need, her misguided help, loading or securing my new mower.

I drove away thinking that there must be a lot of middle-aged douchebags that "think" they know everything, and that's why these folks behave badly. Oh well, can't change the world I guess.

Made out with a free bench grinder. My trip to Atlanta paid off after all. The SKU didn't come up at all, not even penny status. Store manager said "happy birthday"

Btw the HD in Cumberland in Atlanta still has a lot of stuff left. Their clearance section in aisle 8 is a mess. I would have got more, but I think my luggage is gonna be overpacked as it is

Argh. I was in that store last Friday and didn't see anything. I like the layout and selection and that store but often get frustrated when shopping there. It is across from the corporate office and has tons of lookers.

I actually tried some SQL injection commands on some Chinese websites last night. Didn't have any luck lol.

Careful... Not something you should ever admit publicly, regardless of current international relations.

I picked up 2 of these the other day at that price before I saw it here while looking for items posted here. The store had 3. Checked another store that I was in by work yesterday and they had 2 on the rack.

PS. Appreciate the deals and info posted here. I was able to score 2 of the Milwaukee Impact Driver's a few weeks back @ the $59+tax price thanks to this thread. One for me and one for my brother. I enjoy looking around for good deals to add tools to my collection and to help a few family members obtain things they need at discount prices. Thumbs up!

Drive twenty miles and they clearanced it out last month at that store.

I drove to Savannah to get some more $1 Diablo reciprocating blades. No display anywhere, but Diablo has a promo through the 2nd of August for a free 5-pack with purchase of the 6-piece reciprocating blades with case. Not too bad...paid $15 and got the $19 general purpose blades free.

I picked up a couple of the M18 fuel 1/4" impact kits a couple weeks ago in east Plano, TX. The west Plano store computer has been showing two kits available for several weeks, but I have not been able to find them. Maybe someone else has better eyes.

Is anyone in the Dallas area interested in trading for the extra impact kit I have? I would like to trade one of my impact kits or bare tool for a Milwaukee model 2701 M18 fuel compact drill/driver kit or bare tool. Alternately, a DeWalt DC790 drill/driver kit or bare tool would do.

Thanks,
Steve

Stuck it right in the vein today...

Stopped by one of the stores that I hadn't been to in a couple weeks and found a box of Paslode framing nails for $0.44. Snatched them up as a gift for cousin helping me with my garage build next week.

From there went to another store that has one of each of the Bostitch Brad Nailer, Framing Nailer, and Crown Stapler that I've been hunting for for some time. While I was there, I just happen to see a DC65 showing in stock so I tried to redeem my DC65/DC41 purchase. While looking a very polite HD employee asked if I needed help. Told her what I was looking for and she was on the case. After looking high in the rafters for 10 min, she went around the corner and voila, it was sitting in plain sight on the floor. I ran into her again a few minutes later, hoping she would have the same luck with the Bostitch gear, and she told me she got scolded by one of the other female employees for helping me find the DC65. She got a kick out of it, and I decided to hurry up and pay for it and get it in my truck before it disappeared while I was hunting.

Come back in, and on my way remembered to swing by the Tool Rental section. Picked up qty.5 boxes of Porter Cable finishing nails for $0.50/ea. Walked over to the nail gun section and it had been straightened up since last time I was there so I figured I was screwed. High in the rafters across from the nails & guns were a Hitachi Nailer ($78), a box of Bostitch Coil Nails ($0.44/ea) and qty.10 boxes of Hitachi coil nails 3,600 ct. ($0.44/ea). Asked the HD guy if he could get them for me. "There's 10 boxes; you want them all?" Ah, yes sir. As I walked away I heard him tell one of the other guys, "He got all my nails!". Apparently, he was planning on taking them home with him...ah well. Hopefully my buddies need some, because I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the 50,000 nails I picked up today for under $10.

I've never seen a box of nails even on sale. I check the computer in the store it shows a few for pennies but always gone.

To the guy above that found nails in the tool rental area did you know part numbers or did that computer show some in stock?

Just an FYI - If you are looking for the DeWalt Tough System boxes DS150 SKU # 536418 and DS400 SKU # 538882

A local store has them in stock again ( online and I called to verify ) after having them on clearance. They do not even have a spot on the shelf for them and they had zero last week.

Keep checking your local stores if interested.......

I am going tomorrow to see if it is for real or the jacked up the price again.... Lol

I made someone happy today. I started out the morning. I got up at 5am this morning and went on the hunt for an M18 grinder and circ saw. I searched every store in the area. 5 total. No luck. One store had them at full price and all of the others were sold out.

One store I went in the tool guy was looking though the clearance stuff. I asked him if he was putting out new stuff. He replied that he had been out for two day and he was checking to see what deals were in there. I guess we know where a lot of the deals go. I searched the store and found three DeWalt tool box sets. They were still in the box wrapped up in shrink wrap in top stock. Not any where near the tool department. It was priced at $90.04 for the top and $135.09 for the bottom. I asked if they could price match the closest store which was at $88.03 and $68.03. The tool guy said he needed to get the department head. She came out and talked to me I asked if I could transfer to my store so I could buy it at the lowest clearance price. After talking to me a while she said that she would match one or me. I said ok I want to purchase it. I said that I had to drive home and get my truck and could I go ahead and pay for it. She said that's not nessicary and that she would be there until 1pm. They would pull it down and get it ready. She instructed the tool guy to go pull 1 down and put it aside for me.

I left drove home got my truck and made it back by 12:30. I went in and looked and both pallets were no longer in top stock. I found the same tool guy. When I found him he said your too late all of the sold. He said it with an attitude. I said I just drove 100miles to go get my truck. Just like we discussed. I asked to speak with the department head again. He called her up there. Apparently he took it upon himself to pull all three sets down and put them right up front next to the registers. She asked him why he didn't set the one aside like he was instructed. He said he didn't know if I was coming back. I asked to speak with the manager. She told the manager that I did just go drive all the way to get my truck with a promise to get one down for me. She even admitted that I wanted to pay for them at the time.

The manger said he was sorry and he would see if he could locate one for me. He was really nice and he did seem to try to locate another one. He asked if he could substitute another box. All they had was crappy husky boxes. He ended up giving me a good deal on a Milwaukee led light. The person that screwed me was the tool guy. I feel like he called someone and told them to come buy the tool boxes. He had an attitude the min I came back in the door. When the manager looked one person bought two of the sets and someone came a little later and bought the last one.

Did someone in here buy a DeWalt today?

Dude that really, really *****. I once had a similar situation where I needed to go get my truck (only about 10 miles round trip though) and asked to pay for them and they said the same thing that it wasn't necessary. I had little confidence in that response and insisted that I pay for them then (which I did) so I wouldn't roll back up to find them all sold. Sorry that happened. I'd be livid....

RI was able to find something at each store. I got a bostitch finish stapler at one with no box. I got one of the bostitch 18 ga nailers. I found a $.44 box of framing nails.(box in really bad shape) Another store had one of the M12 flashlights on clearance.

Does anyone want to trade? I wouldn't mind to have one of the 15 or 16 ga nailers, or something else I could use.
