Torqued a lug nut to 150 ft-lbs and it would not break it loose. Total chinese piece of ****.
Wow, that's pretty lame. I know you probably oiled it to get a better seal, but that probably didn't help. If it won't take off a nut that's on at 150 ft-lb that's a REALLY lame impact.

After reading about the cheep prices on the Husky air products I was feeling stupid for buying an IR2235 last month. Now I don't feel totally stupid, I just feel cash-poor.

I did buy the Husky 3/8" air ratchet, which is only rated to 50 ft-lb. I've heard so many people say that you can get away with a cheap 3/8" air ratchet that I thought I'd give it a shot for $20.00. Anyone have experience with them?

You should have had them look in the DNI. I'm sure the case with the charger and battery are still up there.
One of the stores I've been to had several rubbermaid tubs up high in the tool department, and they were labelled "Milwaukee batteries and chargers", "Dewalt batteries and chargers", etc. It wasn't in the DNI section, so I don't know if they were just tossing small packaged parts in there, or if that's where they keep parts from the open display boxes that should be in the DNI section. Maybe it's just one of the tool guy's hiding places.

Yet again. This proves to me people will buy dog **** to re sell. Maybe I value my time more than others
?

It doesn't take much time and effort to post stuff on eBay, wait for the stuff to sell, bring it to the post office and send it off. Turning $100 into $2-3000(or even more in some of these cases) is a pretty good ROI, most people don't get that chance everyday.

TBH, I'm quite jealous of these guys, wish I could have gotten in on this deal.

BTW guys with the nails....you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY ****!!!!:bowdown:

This all day long ^, but you bet your *** if I found a buyer for dog **** and a big enough margin to make some cash, I'd be in the dog **** business for real. ;)

Looks like cumminsman was working or sleeping during economics class, either way that's a 95% margin minimum.

Are those the 3 inch 28 degree ones? I've sold about 30 cases of staples and nails the past two weeks. Good profit to be made, Flat rate USPS boxes, are the way to go, and bundle them. bundling them makes them heavy I just shipped 3 cases of 3 1/4 x 120 nails in one flat rate box.... the thing weighed 58 lbs. but will make 40 dollars profit after its all done. at 50 cents a case bundling them is the way to go. still have about 80 cases left, but that one sale paid for all the ones I have left to sell. It is alot of work but it will be worth it.

Ya they are. Got a total of 149 boxes of those lol

Figured I would post the flat rate dimensions. Most of the Grip Rite nails (except the smaller boxes) don't fit. I ended up paying $24 to ship 1 box of nails. Still made $12 profit, but I'm done with that unless they fit in flat rates. Craigslist they go.

I spent $100 for $10,000 worth of nails. I sold 3 boxes and made my money back. I have 177 boxes left. I value the money. To each his own.

I will be buying myself a nice generator with this profit, among many other tools I want. A good 4x24 belt sander, and probably a 40-80 gallon compressor. And, I will still have money left over.

I actually find all this Home Depot shopping to be fun

I guess it all depends how much $$ per hour you make at your full time job vs how much per hour you end up
making by dealing with Home Depot

not everybody who has a full time job and a family wants to do that

guys who resell nails and other stuff - how much do end up making an hour
please include the time spent at Home Depots, driving to Home Depots and time spent on selling ( eBay, Craigslist, shipping etc)

I understand that money can pay for something but how much is it per hour?

I just want to know if I want to get in the business or not [emoji6]
Thanks

It's a hobby, not a job. Any profit you make is profit you didn't have before.

I'm sure theres plenty of people willing to offer 20 cents on the dollar:)
The problem -- at least in my experience -- is that even when you offer the CL crowd a killer deal, that's still not good enough for them. They always try to nickel and dime you into a lower price because CL people are always looking for something for nothing. They're the kind of people who have a strong sense of entitlement, and expect a handout or a personalized subsidy at your expense. I don't like wasting my time dealing with them.

I sold a like-new $200 bar fridge, asking $50 for it. The lady said she'd pay the price, and when she arrived she tried to lowball it for $10. I threw her out and hit her in the *** with the door as I was slamming it.

I had another guy who was buying a tool tell me that he wanted me to take $40 off because he had to drive 50 miles to come get it and couldn't commit to when he would come. I told that I didn't really care about where he lived, that wasn't my problem. then I told him that if he couldn't schedule an appointment and keep it then he wasn't the kind of person I wanted to deal with.

I value my time a lot. Like Spn I don't mind "wasting" my time tool shopping or hunting -- it's a hobby. But I really don't like dealing with CL people -- that's a waste of time that I want no part of. At least with ebay you don't have to commit time to the transaction until you already have the money in-hand and the deal has been cemented.

CL people ... I wouldn't wish them on the cumminsman.

Strange, still full price at both the Home Depots I checked in my area

I found them on the hardware desk. When I picked them up to look at them, the associate said I couldn't buy them. She took them, scanned it with her smart phone and said "yup, they're a penny, can't sell them." I fussed, walked away for a few minutes and when I walked back by, they were still sitting there. I snatched them and went to check out and to my dismay, they were $1.00.

That's why I only got the small stuff, and the 7200 count flooring staples which go for 79 dollars new. They have to fit and bundle them when I sell them. The coil nails and other grip rite where to big and selling new for 40 bucks so I passed on them. I've sold 6 cases of flooring staples and made 32 dollars off of each one after shipping and eBay & PayPal fees.

Are they the Bostitch ones?

Maybe I need to try ebay if I can get them in a flat rate box. I have 3 cases of 9660 each that I put on craigslist for $60 total for all 3 and havent had any hits.

Problem is Ebay is loaded with them from everybody who cleaned out HD! :spit:

I guess worst case is if they don't sell in a month, theyre worth $9 in scrap!

Yea those are the smaller ones they will sell in time. I have the 7728 count 2 inch staple are selling.

For those who say their time is more important then making money then that's fine. I've purchased stuff that I've kept a bunch of stuff. I've sold a little over 2,000 in two weeks. I've paid for all the stuff I got which was like 750 dollars plus all the eBay and paypale fees I've still made 800 dollars profit and still have 1440 dollars waiting to sell. Not even including another 900 dollars of nails that I can sell.

Let's say if I make 1500 to 1800 dollars in profit. I don't think it's a total waist of time? Oh and I ship all the stuff during my work break so I'm still getting paid, while getting paid if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the info on the Dyson. I found the floor model DC65 for $150 (even though the tag said $420). No attachment, but it'll make a good 2nd vacuum.

Gotta sell 15 boxes of nails & nail/fuel combos, and the Bostitch framing nailer. That'll cover the cost of the vacuum.

I guess my time doing engineering is worth more, but it is kind of a fun hobby, even if I keep most of the stuff. Still cheaper than drag racing and destroying parts!

You could consider this nitpicky but while he isn't interested in going into the nail business, he could still be interested in getting the occasional deal and seeing what deals other people are getting.

I think he's just trying to point out to people that they should consider why they are doing what they are doing and if it's for the fun, great. If it's to make a profit then make sure you actually ARE making a profit.

There was an episode of Restaurant Impossible I saw a few years back where there was a mom and pop restaurant who couldn't figure out why they were going out of business. Meathead guy goes in there and asks them how they set their prices. They didn't know. Then he asked what their costs were. They gave him some general figures about rent and such and he said "You sell this for X$. How much did it cost you to prepare this portion?" and they didn't know. It turned out they thought their prices were too low but in reality it was their costs that were way too high. They were spending 13.50$ to make a 14$ meal and when meathead guy was through with it they could charge 10$ a meal for that same exact dish, except it only cost them 2 or 3$ to make.

If you guys start treating this like a business, then expect other forum posters to talk about it like a business.

Everyone here can figure that out on their own. If they can't it's nobody's business to "correct" them.

Sorry I didn't reply with " bang his wife" are we grown men or kids? You call me a troll, yet all of you continue this?

At what point did it become inappropriate to make jokes? Like I said people are being sensitive, did I say it was dumb? Nope. Have I posted hot deals, yep.

I guess everyone has been a "troll" because if what I did was trolling, we are all guilty.

So for the post that said "SMB" sorry bud, out of luck there.

I'll never understand how people can get offended by words. Who cares what anyone else says about you. Worry about how to make your life better and have more fun before you damn die people.

Back to the deals please.
