Is Home Depot still taking Lowes coupons? I'm talking about real coupons (either Real Estate ones or the $10 off $50 & $25 off $250)

I have a real emailed one from Lowes, but only HD has what I am looking for.

I believe it varies by store. I'd say it there's a Lowe's close to the Home Depot then they'll probably accept it. If it doesn't work try a different cashier/manager/time of day/etc.

Well that *****.

Does anyone on here have a F28WW that they want to sell me? Spn1025?

I picked up a F28WW and F350S can't decide which one to keep or is better. They are both better than what I have now though.

You would probably have more luck with the 12D (3 1/4") as opposed to the 16D (3 1/2").

We used to sell way more 12D than 16D at the hardware store where I worked.
Sometimes you have to take what you can get.

I had those nails in my shopping cart on the night of the sale. They were the only size available at the time. It wasn't like you could order whatever you wanted, only certain sizes were available because HD was closing out the nails that don't move. I hesitated to pull the trigger because they weren't the size I wanted. I ended up not completing the transaction... probably because these other guys bought out the entire stock while I hesitated. I hope you guys can move them.

I'm not a big fan of the F28WW. I don't like the way you load the nails from the top. That was the biggest reason I went with the LPF28WW it loads from the rear of the magazine.

Thanks for someone posting a link the instructions and reviving that thread since I could never find it. Now that I know the details I will have to run to the Home Depot near my work on my lunch break and test it out!

Welp, Estes Trucking called to setup shipping for Tuesday so I will be getting my nails delivered then. I'm going to park my trailer at the end of the driveway in preparation so there is less work involved.

Snagged a Husky 1/2 Impact this morning for $20.03. They had one more sealed package and 2 disaply models available as well. Listed price was something like $79. Not that i really needed it.

there's a reason that husky impact is on closeout. It has the reputation of a turd. i've passed on dozens of them. Not everything on clearance is a good buy.

Then why are they selling all the nails they got? Ha

Because this thread is no longer a "Hot Deals" thread and more along the lines of a Slick Deals thread.... too many resellers. I'm all for finding a decent deal and flipping it to help cover the cost of other tools, but the quantities guys are buying on here remind me of the SD threads where people are like "I don't know what this is or how it's used, but I just bought 100 of them!" This thread has turned more into guys trying to make a business out of it.

^^^ I think this is the kind of whining that comes from wannabee hunters who **** at hunting.

I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to understanding your comments. On one hand, you're saying that it's OK to flip tools to help cover the cost of other tools, but at the same time you say that the quantities of tools that other guys are buying is too large. It sounds like you are capricious and arbitrary in how you decide to classify someone as one or the other.

I know that one fellow who bought a pallet-o-nails is planning on flipping them to buy an air compressor or a generator. As far as I'm concerned, that should qualify as "legitimate tool-flipping" under your arbitrary standard; someone who sets arbitrary and caprecious standards might deride him as being a slick deals idiot or a reseller. You've made both comments. I don't see the difference. Where do you draw the line?

I don't quite understand how you distinguish between the first situation and the second. Please explain exactly what the difference is between tool-flipping (which you approve of) and tool-reselling (which you don't approve of). I'd really like to understand what the difference is. I don't want to have the false impression that you're talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Remind me where in the title it says, "This thread is only for people trying to find a deal, not people trying to make money."

Guess what? If it weren't for the people who are trying to make money on the deals they find, 90% of the posts in here wouldn't exist. Don't cry just because you want to commit the crime without doing the time.

This. I wasn't going to say anything but this has become the HD resellers thread.

One member told me average of a 2630-20 circular saw on eBay is $86 plus $18 shipping. I have NOT verified that myself on eBay. If true, it's selling over retail of $99 at my store right now. Crazy, but that IS eBay.

With the exception of penny deals (which my store seems VERY good about never leaving on the floor anywhere), there's not enough meat on the bone to be worth my time after shipping and ebay's ever-climbing fees.

I figure something sold thru a private individual, even if NIB, is worth at most .60 on the dollar. I think a lot of members are thinking they're going to get (or at least going to ASK) full retail or maybe $10 under. I'd sooner buy from CPO or similar, and watch for promos/deals w free tools or batteries, plus get my own legit receipt for warranty or if the product fails after 3 days (I'd rather exchange thru a real retailer than go thru Paypal's buyer protection).

But if you guys can get near retail on eBay and don't mind your time or fees, that's your choice. Carry on.

The reasons for this may not be clear to people who are bad at math.

Brick and Mortar example:
$99 + 7% tax = 105.93. Spend time Driving. Pay for gas driving to store.

Ebay:
$86 + 18 shipping = $104 delivered. No time spent driving. No fuel expense.

There are hidden costs involved in shopping that most consumers just fail to consider. It costs me $18 just to drive my truck to the nearest HD store and back. It's much cheaper to buy the saw on ebay. Lower cost or more convenience is the whole point of shopping online.

there's not enough meat on the bone to be worth my time after shipping and ebay's ever-climbing fees.

Interesting point you make there. The first sentence acknowledges that there's a cost that other people have to incur to provide the product for sale -- a cost in time that you are not willing to pay, and a cost in ebay overhead that you are not willing to pay. You think these costs are high enough that you're not willing to pay them. Fair enough.

Then in your second sentence, you say that NIB gear is only worth 60-cents on the dollar.

In other words, you aren't willing to put in the time or effort, and you aren't willing to pay the overhead expenses. And at the same time you say that you aren't willing to reimburse the other guy for his time, effort and expenses. That kind of comment only comes only from someone who thinks his time is valuable, but doesn't place any value on other peoples' time.

IMHO that kind of attitude doesn't get you far in life.

I gotta say, I don't know who all is referring to themselves as "hunters" but I do find that amusing. I'm not saying stop --- no by all means continue, it gives me chuckle each time. I might call myself a cheapskate, coupon ***** or deal seeker (some of my doctors have called me a drug seeker......wait, where were we?), but hunter infers some nobility which is laughable.

[Australian accent] "He patiently stalks the reciprocating saw, carefully observing as it strolls across the plains of the Home Depot shelving, unaware that in the tall grass lurks the master hunter, poised to strike at any time"... [/Australian accent]

One Dewalt cordless grinder for $25.03, 6 small packs of roofing nails for a penny each, and a few more packs of Porter Cable brad nails for .44 each. Other than that, Tilton and Concord NH are picked clean

Question about items in .x2. Just left a HD and they had an endstand of nails, with two boxes ending in .x2. Numbers 523-463 and 523-486. Price app in store showed same prices as main website. Would those nails possibly ring up as .01 since they ended in a 2 or would I have been wasting my time taking them to the register?

Doesn't the self checkout have a price check button? You then hit "buy this item" or "not to buy this item"

What's more laughable is a person that's bad at math making fun of those of us that are doing very well buying clearance and reselling. Until you've done it, you might want to keep your arrogant comments to yourself. I don't make a ton of money at my job, but I'm 500 dollars away from making on ebay what I've made at my 8-5 this year....and have spent less than 40 hours doing it. Don't make fun of other people just because you have an inability to put yourself in our shoes.

I need just a box or two of nails.

I looked in 4 stores over the past month and nothing, I check the price check app and wrote down all skus even though they said 0 on hand and didn't see any.

I then wrote down some skus of griprite, bostitch on the shelve and checked and they were full price.

I can see how people find .44 and .50 nails if the computer says in stock but how are you guys finding nails on the shelve marked full price ringing up .50 there is no way to remember all those skus just looking at them in the store.

Ladies and gentleman. My biggest score yet. Found husky 52 inch clear drawer rolling cabinet way up in the rafters for 1 cent.

Just trying to figure this out...
When you saw it up in the rafters, how did you know it was 1 cent? Had you seen it on the store computer? Did the computer say that there was 1 in stock somewhere?
Thanks

Why the heck are you guys getting offended if someone says you are wasting time trying to find deals only to buy a lot to resale on ebay or that you don't make enough to make it worth while, Who cares? If you are happy then do whatever.

I personally haven't even had the change to buy large amounts. I have some Dewalt DS150 and 400s, two Dewalt recip saws, a case of aa batteries, and three framing nailers. None of which I will sell on ebay. I let my family and friends buy whatever I don't want for what I paid and they love it (more than just HD deals too).

I just bought three items for you fellow garagejournal guys and shipped at my cost for everything just because people did the same for me on the Menards thread last year.

If I ran across 200 cases of nails for .50 a case yes I would buy them, no one here wouldn't.

I know people that live just on ebay selling, good for them if that is what they choose.

My fear is HD will keep reading all these posts and change how they do business. Lowes does their clearance different and it is harder to find stuff.

As for the post about 104.00 on ebay or 105.00 at a known store, or whatever the numbers were. I will pay more to buy from a known trusted store. Amazon resellers have screwed me so many times I will pick the Amazon price even if it is a little higher. Same for ebay, I'm sure we have all been had some, but of course buying boxes of nails half off on ebay and cl is a save purchase. How can someone scam you on nails as long as you get the shipment.

Seriously though, every time a member posts one comment about a large purchase someone makes on here they get blasted to the point they don't want to comment on anything. From what I have read most of the remarks are demeaning or rude, they just state how they feel it is not worth their time or effort etc.

I like dropping in the local store here and there just to see what I can find. The first find I had were the DS boxes and after looking a while to look up and see 4 of each was quite a successful feeling.

Now you're asking for trade secrets. ;)

Me? I don't stand in the aisle and read a zillion SKU off of boxes and bump them up against a list. That would take way too much time. I write down a list of nails that are on-sale, organized by SKU and by manufacturer, and then walk to the aisle and look up. I have no problem memorizing the list as I write it. Then I just stand back in the aisle, stare up at the shelf with hundreds of little boxes on it, and recognize which ones I want. It's as if the nails I'm looking for scream, "Here I am." Then I get the associate to pull them down for me.

It takes longer to generate the list on the computer than it does for me to recognize the nails in the aisle. I think it takes a combination of good memory skills and training your eye to scan for numbers quickly to recognize needles in haystacks. It's a Gestalt picture sort of thing. I don't even consciously look for numbers. I just let my eye go to the boxes that matter. This is a skill that some people have and others don't.

When it comes to finding a nailer on clearance and the right nails to feed it on clearance, good luck with that. I have not had that luck so far. I'd rather just accumulate nails on clearance and pay for a nailer to use them, or accumulate nailers on clearance and pay for the nails. Paying retail for one or the other isn't unreasonable if you need it and time is a factor.

I believe the part in red is true. We haven't had a decent clearance deal at Lowes in a very long time
