Gotcha. I've bought several DS150's at various stores. Especially if I have a **** load of penny items. Always ringing up full price.

Working off this theory has any scanned the dewalt ds400 and ds150 boxes at stores that still have them listed at full price to see what they ring up as?

Yea I tried that at two stores that had them, no dice still full price.

IMO you can forget about DS boxes ringing up at penny status. There are stores that have eliminated those SKU and stores that are going to keep selling those SKU. Around here the stores that eliminated them completed the elimination a month ago. I know for a fact that the stores I frequent converted the SKU to inactive immediately upon selling the last product to me. They have them as inactive SKU now. The boxes have stayed at full price in those stores that are designated to continue carrying them.

Around the City, there have got to be 50 stores that keep them stocked. They sell through them, they reorder them, and they keep them in stock at full price. I bought some this week. Yeah, I paid full price for them because I need them.

The other stores have them cleared out are not restocking them. The SKUs are inactive, which prevents any RR scams. You can return but the merchandise gets RTV'd. No rebuys.

If you've got a penny theory about the DS boxes, and you've got doubts about the pricing, then the easiest thing to do is grab one off of the floor and take it to SCO to do a price check. You'll get your answer that way.

I have a similar situation in my area. Only, as a test, I was able to return re-buy from a full price store to a clearance store. It's tricky, you have to play your cards, but it can be done.

You guys must have stores that don't manage inventory very well or something. I went to 3 stores in my area (there are only 5 or so) and the over heads are neat and everything tagged with sku decals. All clearance price tags are updated as well.

Those finding stuff behind boxes in the over head or under signs, etc, are you climbing in to the rafters? They don't allow that here and will quickly ask you to get down and won't allow use of HD ladders.

Some stores are like that. But as said earlier, it's estimated that it takes the MET team nearly a week to make the whole store. Also, check random sku's. Nobody is perfect. They're dropping the ball somewhere. It may not be tools at every store. Plumbing, electrical, lighting. The work ethic of the population is severely diminished and someone in that store is dropping the ball occasionally.

There are at least 100 stores in Chicagoland. But that doesn't help as much as you think it would, because the number of customers is so high that the ratio of people to stores isnt really better than it is in other areas. Then, if you factor in traffic, you figure out that although the stores are close on the map, city traffic is so congested that the stores are hours apart. All things considered, I don't think the ability to get deals is any better here. In fact, it may be even worse because of the concentration of shoppers. It's really hard to find deals here, especially after the inventory clean-ups.

Ditto on that, traffic is crazy down here, and they are all packed full of people. Counted 27 stores between both counties, and I live near the county line in the middle.

I have 15 stores all within an hour drive at any given time of day. 6 stores that I visit regularly.

Here was Wednesday haul
Amazing you can find so many.

I have only seen 11 total in every store I've been in.

But I've got plenty of nailers. The opposite of most I think.

Yea this is a busy store too, by far the busiest i've seen. It's the one that has all the Milwaukee drill/speaker combos.

I'll agree with SOME of that. But the stores in larger areas, also have more inventory, AND a wider assortment of inventory. The smaller, more remote stores just simply don't ever stock many of the items that the larger stores do.

Not around here. The area is populated with a large number of small footprint stores, and very few large ones.

Today's pick. 1 penny each except for the Dewalt hacksaw (full price). The roofing nails are $220 full price.
